A former teacher at a Fauquier County middle school has been sentenced to more than 17 years in prison for producing child pornography by filming himself engaging in sexual activity with a student.
Thirty-four-year-old Scott C. Howe, who taught at Cedar Lee Middle School, was convicted at a bench trial earlier this year. Howe used a video camera on multiple occasions to document sexual activity between himself and a teenage student who had been assigned to him for special instruction.
Howe plied the victim with alcohol and filmed some of the sex acts at the school.

yes, it’s intentional. the press does the same thing with criminals... only mentioning the race if the perp is white ... and especially if the victim is black.
as for becoming more common... last stat i saw put the number of teachers dismissed per year for molesting kids around 700. that’s 2 for every day of the year... or almost 4 for every school day. when you do the math, the number of teachers molesting kids FAR exceeds the number of priests... yet the press bashes priests.. and by extension, the church. go figure.

Okay, jokes aside - this is not a joking matter. One young man's life probably ruined, and who knows how many more this evil pervert has destroyed. This is the real face of homosexuality. Seduce and molest the young. Another reason to homeschool.

The age of the student is not mentioned in this article beyond the description of being a teenager. When I was in school middle schools usually contained the grades of 6-8. Pretty much the OLDEST age you would find in the school would be 13. Perhaps occasionally a few 14 year olds. It’s atrocious that they would not give the full details — not the child’s name of course, but more than they have described, IMHO. It’s like the writer didn’t pass basic news writing.
I agree, and think that this guy is a creep. Since I’m not an advocate of jail time (I personally don’t agree with it, and it does NOTHING to “rehabilitate” molestors, and arguably does not deter them), I think castration may be better, but alas, may be considered cruel and unusual constitutionally. I fail to see why we, as a society, let the older people abuse the young and innocent, or even “not innocent (because of media), but still too young to make an informed decision.”
But I have to admit, some of the guilty/not guilty comments have given me a chuckle on threads, but it’s important to not make like of this. So I second your posts.
I’ve read on several articles that said the boy is 15, I dunno if he was younger at the time. To quote:
“During the course of their investigation, investigators allegedly found nine videos showing Howe and the 15-year-old boy engaged in various sexual activities. It is further alleged that an additional 13 videos depicting the two were found on an external hard drive.”
