Laura is an liberal and has not studied the problem of gay marriage. Especially, as it relates to children who end up the worst off. The teacher should study up on the issue and the problems it poses to children (the weakest members of society) and there is a slew of them. As well, the problems it poses to society’s moral norms: gay marriage changes the definition of marriage which opens a door to every perverse coupling and will legitimize promiscuity (another problem for children as in the case of polyandry). Further, gay marriage undermines the model of the traditional family (which happens to be the best or healthiest model for children). The biggest reason, in my thinking, that Christianity would condemn homosexuality as a vice is that all vice (prostitution, adultery, porn, etc.) tears away at the fabric of the family which is there to protect children. The promiscuous, hedonistic lifestyle with many partners wandering in and out leads to child insecurity, if not greater potential for child abuse.

Massachusetts voters have had three election cycles (2004, 2006 and 2008) to demonstrate opposition to gay marriage, by voting for candidates for the legislature who would permit the Constitutional Amendment to reach the ballot, and have not done so.
The word for the attitude towards things that bother you but you won’t do anything about isn’t “oppose” but “tolerate.”

If they are allowed to be “married” then they get all the federal funds and benefits that go with that:
Filing “Married” on their W-4 and on their tax returns
Getting funds from the government to adopt kids
Etc...
THAT is the MAIN reason they want the “married” title! Because they have to know that I, along with most sane Christians, will NEVER believe that their lifestyle choices are the same as my marriage!
As I always say, I do not care what you do in your bedroom, but you probably shouldn’t be flaunting it on the streets! I am not asking you to go back into the closet, but I do ask that you keep it in your bedroom!
