NEW YORK NFL commissioner Roger Goodell says Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has violated the league's personal-conduct policy.
Goodell said on the Dan Patrick radio show Monday there has been a "violation" and the key issue is a "pattern of behavior."
Last week, prosecutors in Georgia declined to charge Roethlisberger after a college student accused him of sexual assault in March. The NFL is expected to discipline Roethlisberger, although it says there is no timetable for such a decision.

So whatcha gonna do, Dan? Cowher won for YEARS without a quarterback, even getting to a Super Bowl and several championship games. Unfortunately your affirmative action coach can’t do the same. So does Ben stay or go?
It’s against league to bring 6 weeks worth of bad press. They can chase all the women they want, but it better not make headlines.
The local police conduct surrounding ...
The one in Vegas that sued, the one in Georgia that called the cops, and since Georgia two more in the Pittsburgh area have discussed past “bad behavior” in pretty graphic detail. Now it’s possible none of them are true, but it’s also possible all of them are true, and it’s definite Ben needs to stop putting himself in these situations where the possibility of these things exist.
You must be better informed than I am. Thanks for the clarification. :)
Whoa! Not defending him any way. But it is an established fact that there are females out there who will throw themselves at a celebrity and then either regret their choice and holler “rape,” and/or look to get some free money. Frankly, I think the Steelers could use a better quarterback. They have Roethlisberger, who can’t keep out of trouble, and Batch, who is injured getting in and out of bed. Time to get someone who can play the game and keep his nose clean.
Understand the words used, PacMan probably did worse things, but they weren’t as SLEAZY as 4 possible rapes. And PacMan’s riot didn’t generate 6 weeks worth of bad press, partly because it wasn’t as sleazy (the press loves sleaze). And I don’t think Jones has ever actually been convicted, he certainly hadn’t been when Goodell suspended him for a full season.
When you've got off-duty PD and DEA thugging for you, arrest is something you tend to avoid.
One cop - the one actually working that evening - has already been fired, and I suspect the others might find themselves at the business end of an internal investigation.
The crime scene was "disinfected" with bleach and pine-sol before ANY forensic evidence was obtained, and surveillance footage was mysteriously erased sometime between the alleged incident and when local police tried to obtain the tapes in the following days. How convenient. Big Ben isn't smart enough to pull that off, but his LE buddies certainly are. Just saying.
Molesting innocent strangers? Really?
Admittedly, I do not follow the NFL, and I can’t profess to have read much about these cases, except what I read here. But it looks to me like he has been the victim — the victim of sluts looking for some money and/or fame.
I can’t believe so many of the posts on this thread totally miss the point.
Why is a millionaire in his late 20’s hanging out at college bars? Shouldn’t he grow up and be a professional?
Derek Jeter is the most successful bachelor of this era. Never had an incident like this.
He does his carousing with class (LOL).
Plus he holds onto the ball too long.
Come on, dude. Why is an NFL QB at a college bar?
Grow up.
From your about page and what you say here, you sound like you are from the Pittsburgh area there fatnotlazy.
Steelers fan?
To loosely borrow the quote from "Dazed and Confused":
"Naw, man. That's what I like about these college girls; I get older, they stay the same age."
Keep your infantile straw man arguments to yourself, thanks. BTW, if anyone's gay here it's you - you and your Roethlisberger man-love. Get a room.
