Some airports are reopening tomorrow morning. If you like, I will try to get to the Lufthansa site.

eruption causes irregularities in flight operationsLast update: 16th April, 1700 UTC
Please read the latest updates on the flight status here on this page.

Like all other airlines, Lufthansa must comply with directives issued by ministries and air traffic control. Many European airports have closed. In Germany, the airports in Berlin, Bremen, Cologne, Dortmund, Dresden, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Hanover, Hof, Leipzig, Munich, Muenster/Osnabrueck, Nuremberg and Stuttgart have shut down. All arrivals at and departures from these airports have been cancelled until further notice.

As it is still not possible to predict when the current airspace restrictions will be lifted, Lufthansa is also cancelling all flights from all German airports scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday 17 April until 1000 UTC. Passengers who have booked flights from the above-mentioned airports are requested not to travel to the airport and to keep up-to-date with the status of their flights via:

Arrival & Departure

Passengers travelling within Germany can switch to a journey by rail with Deutsche Bahn, if their flights have to be cancelled. For that purpose, they must exchange their electronic ticket (etix) for a travel voucher at a Lufthansa check-in machine at the airport. Alternatively passenger can buy a Deutschen Bahn AG rail ticket. In this case the flight ticket price can later be refunded*.

I went to: www.lufthansa.com/online/portal/lh/de/info_and_services/flightinfo/arrivals_departures/

where I typed in 4/17/10 and flight 708. It said flight either cancelled or does not exist. Not much other information.

Passengers whose flights have been cancelled will be rebooked in the same compartment free of charge on other flights (which must be flown by 31 May). Alternatively, if they wish to cancel their ticket, they will receive a refund. Further information is available from the Lufthansa Service Center or out of Germany toll free under 0800 8 50 60 70. Due to the exceptional circumstances, customers may face longer than normal waiting times.

Anyone know if he could get to Spain of say Rome if any transAtlantic flights are going out of there?

How about Rome to Miami? If any flights are flying into the U.S. it would have to be far south like Orlando or Miami.

In Dusseldorf need info.

Add the necessary attributes to your mapping file,

•In the Object Relational Designer, change the Serialization Mode property to Unidirectional.
•On the SQLMetal command line, add the /serialization option.
Then, in your application, add a reference to System.Runtime.Serialization.dll, and use code like this:

DataContractSerializer dcs = new DataContractSerializer(typeof(Customer));
StringBuilder sb = new StringBuilder();
XmlWriter writer = XmlWriter.Create(sb);
dcs.WriteObject(writer, cust);
writer.Close();
string xml = sb.ToString();

Go to the Alt Stadt. Find Zum Uerige or one of the other brauereis (sp?). Order and Alt and an entree of Schweinehaxen or Sauer Braten Rheinische Art. If you’re stuck, you’re stuck. Enjoy and make the best of it!

Try Telegraph News (England) on-line. They have good maps, info, etc. Good luck.
