A computer game retailer revealed that it legally owns the souls of thousands of online shoppers, thanks to a clause in the terms and conditions agreed to by online shoppers.
The retailer, British firm GameStation, added the "immortal soul clause" to the contract signed before making any online purchases earlier this month. It states that customers grant the company the right to claim their soul.
"By placing an order via this Web site on the first day of the fourth month of the year 2010 Anno Domini, you agree to grant Us a non transferable option to claim, for now and for ever more, your immortal soul. Should We wish to exercise this option, you agree to surrender your immortal soul, and any claim you may have on it, within 5 (five) working days of receiving written notification from gamesation.co.uk or one of its duly authorised minions."

Hope they enjoyed their little joke. I suspect it will cost them business. I am easily amused, but some people don’t find this kind of thing funny.

Well, they’re just going to have to get in line. I’ve already made a one billion year commitment to the Scientology navy.

I gave it into His keeping a long time ago.

That's awesome, I've always enjoyed the sense of humor Brits have.
But this brings up something I've always wondered about.
Why couldn't a company try and do something like this, but instead of my immortal soul (*snort*), what if it was my home or automobile instead? How easy it is to click the 'I accept' button without reading word one...
Obviously that example would create a lot of trouble for the company, but they'd have billions in real estate.

They’re going to have to get in line behind Microsoft. With all the EULAs I’ve clicked on “I AGREE” without actually reading, I’m sure they probably already own my soul and my computer.

Consider that it is pretty much impossible for them to prove what the “agreement” said when you clicked on it.
