Shakira is in AZ protesting against the new law. She’s not an American either. It kind of makes the point that you cannot be a citizen just cuz you want to become one. Life isn’t fair. Kidnapping and cop killing sucks too.

I sure have missed you guys. I’ve been so busy I haven’t watched the show live for 2 weeks.

I’m glad screeching Siobahn is gone. Her weirdness and singing through her nose began to get on my nerves in a big way.

I have to go against the gain a little with regard to Crystal. No question she is good. She is a true musician and artist. Having said that though, I don’t see her as being commercial at all. Personally, I wouldn’t buy her record mostly because I don’t get into her style of music.

Another thing I don’t like is how she always has to talk back to the judges during critique time. That’s always been an unflattering thing to me with ANY contestant. Just stand there, be gracious and STFU! It makes them come off as egotistical and unable to take criticism, which let’s face it, this generation does have a problem with.

She probably deserves to win but I just can’t get behind it. If she does win, fine. If she doesn’t, fine too.

Speaking of tattoos...the print version had pics of all the Idols not just the Screamer:

Hi, CB! I miss you too :-|

Just stand there, be gracious and STFU!

LOL! I agree. It wasn't until the judges had something negative to say about her performance (and what they said wasn't even that negative, just "it's not our favorite performance, but ...") that Crystal talked back. The other singers have heard worse from the judges and most of them just stand there quietly.

I hope you can watch the show live with us again soon :)

Oh well, it’s their loss. Some people on FR are so close minded...

With those teeth, she could eat a cob of corn through a tennis racquet. (LOl I read someone else post that, and it cracked me up)

LOL!!! Yes, but you could still have easily written that line!

That songs needs an attitude. Siobhan was just jumping around like a mental patient. She needs to go back in the oven for a couple of years and then come back to singing professionally.

That song was all over the place. She had no clue how to sing the style. She even tried to bring it subregister and had no idea where the pocket was! She blew it big time! She has the voice and singing ability, she just doesn't have the maturity to understand what makes her a good singer. There is a world of different between her Hollywood week, "Living For The City" and almost everything else she did. It would be interesting to find out if someone was influencing her, or did she conjure all that crap singing/song choice on her own?!

I won't miss here now. I'll miss seeing her sister sitting in the audience before I'd miss Sioscreech!

The best thing Siobhan has going for her is short skirts.....

Look at the way she dressed for "Think" and then look at the ridiculous outfits and hairstyle she had after that performance. Tell me what any audience would prefer?

I think that’s what happened to her - she listened to the Idol people and lost touch with herself in her performances. That was my impression over the last several weeks.

That's a great point with a caveat. I think she listened to Idol and went 180 on the advice! Siobhan is a rebel just for the SAKE of being different. She's immature. There is Woman Siobhan and Child Siobhan. Woman Siobhan kicks ass! Butterfly child Siobhan is a wreck! Hopefully, someone will get a hold of her and show her how to use her talent properly!

Good assessment.

Sorry to see her go. To me the mature Siobahn sang Think purposefully to remind everyone that she was “ Free” and to think about “ what you are trying to do to me”

Fits your description of doing it her way...........

You could be right. In general, except for Painted Black, her early performances were good and seemed original (she didn’t care whether she should sing an old hippie song or one that requires soul) and her latter performances gravitated toward more of a pop delivery - too careful. That’s just how it came across to me. Now that she’s out I’m much less interested in who wins.

It's just tragic because she couldn't find herself when she and everyone knows a certain unique talent is there. If honed properly she could be fantastic. Not to totally compare her, but the girl does have this Amy Lee (Evanescence) specter quality.

Two things Siobhan needs to stay away from going forward, her low register (It just doesn't suit her. *FAIL* She thinks it does...) and the Scream! If she would vocally stay mid range on all the songs, she could nail them.

I never really watched anyone's career after Idol especially down 6. I will be very interested to see what happens with her.

Just a quick side note which I find HIGHLY coincidental. I work for a bank and this person presented a check to cash the other day. When I looked at it I noticed the payee name was none other than "Siobhan." It's only the second time I've ever seen that name spelled that way in my life. (dodododo dodododo...)

I think I remember that her high range is good if she doesn’t force it. Totally agree with you on the low range.

That is odd about the check. Before Idol, I had never seen the name.

Maybe she and Adam should do a “screaming number” together. It would probably work.

As to what she wants from her future, this is a nice article:

If you’d like to see her appearance on “Ellen” check out this link (she sang House of the Rising Sun and did it well):

Cool! Thanks for the links. I think I’m going to become a Dwyze fan for now. I don’t think he’ll win, but he does have a chance to be there with Crystal for the finales. I don’t see Crystal actually being an AI, but it just seems she can do no wrong no matter how boring, hippie chick, and subway she might turn out to be!

You’re welcome. Crystal will look better when she gets those missing teeth replaced and we can always hope for a new hairdo. But yeah, she’s not the usual Idol type.

I sort of liked the puzzle teeth on our girl but she’ll probably get those fixed at some point ‘cause she’ll have to. Dewyze is a good choice. I just hope it isn’t Mike. See ya next week.

Yes, but on the up-side...Crystal can use the bugs in her ratsnestafarian hairdo, for background singers. SO it is a win win for both Crystal and the “Save the Bugs” faction.

I don’t watch American Idol, but I’ve begun reading the Idol thread because of your hilarious posts.

I would catch one occasionally as I was checking the Comments of the various threads, and just laugh out loud.

It began to happen so frequently that I finally went to the Idol thread and began reading most of the posts.

Y’all are WAY more entertaining than the show, to me, and you could make a living with that quick wit...lots funnier than some who get paid to be funny.

I’ve gotten so many laughs now, that I felt I should thank you for the free entertainment. lol.
