For tiapam
for you may the burden of pain be spared, the ache outcast
let His peace be your truest companion, your relief be fast
We pray for your true need, as friends are still want to do
we wish our sister well, and in heart will we be with you
Friend
In God do we give your care
for His is the path sublime
Let His strength be yours
as His grace is for all time
Amen
Pam, I do pray that acupuncture will give you some relief. That is one thing I have not utilized yet and am anxious to hear of your impressions & results. Is this a one time thing or something that must be regularly utilized for maximum results/benefits?
As one with chronic back pain my entire adult life I do commiserate & have vowed to avoid surgery at all costs. I know of very few folks over 50 who have good results.
I do yoga, chiropractor, inversion table (for about year now) & massage. I still have pain but know that without these things it would be worse. My pups have necessitated daily excursions & some times the pain is awful but again I am convinced the moving is beneficial. I take long walks on rigorous terrain but sit & stretch out frequently.
My cousin(orthopadic surgeon) has recommended OTC Excedrin which I do 2 many times a day. He also said to avoid surgery. He also has back problems & has NOT had surgery. His father & brother are chiropractors & he is a true believer in the benefit of finding someone who is competent.
The OTC Excedrin(reasonable at Walmart) works as an anti-inflammatory for back & knees as well as pain killer. My problems is a combo like I am guessing yours. stenosis, spurs, advanced arthritis, herniation & frequent stress fractures due to osteoporosis.
My younger brother with similar situations opted for surgery (and has had 3). His back situation is now worse than mine & the last time they put in a bar/rod(or whatever it is called) and he is very limited physically but still has the pain
Thanks for the ping at #855, Amy. I saw the lyrics and was compelled to do a youtube search for the original...

Thanks for the “As Time Goes By” link yorkie. OUTSTANDING music and video.
Thanks to all posters on this wonderful thread.
(Nice break. Now back to the madness)
Hi all.. have been pretty sparse on line past weeks.. Just really busy & hit & miss here, other sites, Facebook.
Last week had 6 - yes 6 - funerals including my 96 year old aunt. Two were at very same time & I skipped the one in Cincinnati, probably would NOT have attended if not a conflict, just due to distance, time etc even though this was a close friend.
Youngest was 44 and oldest my aunt. All were friends except one which was the brother of a good friend.
Yard clean up has consumed my time in this good weather.. so much that I haven’t even gotten out on my bike yet despite weather into the 70s & 80s most days. the regular biking I did over the years was therapeutic for my back.
Yesterday had a freak accident in the kitchen.
Opening a can of mushroom soup for mom. Campbell’s. The aluminum tab came off. I used a can opener to try to lift it.. went around once & it did NOT go thru aluminum. I retried & this time Squeezed hard the can with the opener so it would penetrate the metal. It exploded. The lid flew off & into my forehead.. Right at the hairline into forehead a pretty deep cut about an inch long. Finally got the bleeding under control & poured hydrogen peroxide on it. Tossed out soup figuring the soup under pressure had something in it not good..
localized very sore but in reflecting so very glad it hit high by the cranium. If it had hit my nose, cheeks, ears, chin, there would have been major injury in comparison and I would have no doubt needed to go to hospital, which I avoid . glasses protected my eyes but had it hit the lens, not sure if it would have broken it. It shot like a missle
Mom still the same. 91 & an invalid but sharp mind & good appetite. Josy & Toby remain my buds & joy. Molly the computer cat does the typical cat things... throws up on keyboard, knocks over drinks (she is klutzy like I am), and jumps on my head while I sleep.
Yorkie.. I love the pix you posted of the gorgeous bed with the view of the ocean. I could live in that room (well, would need a computer & microwave/frig too!)
I have been playing a bit more with video while I rest my back frequently during day. I still have just the basic photo & video programs on the mac but would eventually if $$ ever is there, upgrade both programs. I love the iMac & the large screen. very spoiled. On occasion when I take out the notebook someplace, it is slow (all the spyware, virus programs) despite being a large / fast unit.
my two TV shows are V & 24. Still get to the movies as often as possible.
Love to you all with this update!
Good evening, PGalt. Great to see you.
I looked for the Sonny James version this morning, but the one I found said it was removed for copyright infringement. I gave up too soon.
Thank you for finding and sharing the YouTube link. I enjoyed listening to ‘Young Love’ again. Brings back lots of memories.
Being able to come here and see friends daily makes the madness disappear for a short while.
Hope you had a wonderful Thursday.
You have been missed, Dolly! (((hugs)))
Hope your injury heals quickly. That was strange! (only Dolly! LOL)
I had a Microdiscectomy in '06, but the Discs Re-Herniated Recently; my Heart is with you.
Good evening, Dolly. Your accident sounds like it could have been serious. Hope you are doing okay now.
I don’t go to Facebook very often. There are not enough hours in the day.
I need to do some yardwork .... maybe I will get to it next week. I do have some help but I need to get out and help some.
Marissa still keeps me running .... tonight was her AWANA meeting. She goes to Saturday Bible study and church on Sunday. She is going to be bored during school vacation. AWANA takes a vacation at the same time.
This Saturday, my friend, Marissa and I are going to meet Lori and JK and Jim and Sheila at a Tea Party Rally in Fresno. Haven’t seen Lori since July.I wish I could get to the rally in DC on April 15th but it is not possible at this time.
Hope you had a wonderful Thursday.
I will be praying for tiapam. You both are my dear friends & I ask the Lord to help tiapam in her time of need. I pray the acupuncture will ease her pain. Much Love, Pandy

Have you ever dreamed that you were falling out of bed or from some great height, and you awoke in fright? I remember that as a boy I would often be awakened by such a terrifying feeling.
I heard about a man who had this sensation as soon as he slipped into sleep. He was so rudely awakened by his sense of falling that he was afraid to go back to sleep. He feared he would die, and he imagined he was falling into a bottomless pit.
Then one evening as he was strolling through a cemetery, he saw this phrase engraved on a tombstone:
Underneath Are The Everlasting Arms
These words reminded him that when believers die, they are safely carried by the Lord to their home in heaven. He recalled the assurance of the psalmist, Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me (Ps. 23:4).
The once-fearful man realized that in life and in death and even in sleepthe everlasting arms of our loving Lord are there to catch and hold us. That night he was able to sing what he was taught in childhood, Teach me to live that I may dread the grave as little as my bed! At last he could fall asleep without fear.

I had a great day, got the stitches taken off my eyelids, and came home and planted some sugar peas and more green beans. And did some machine quilting. (I prefer hand quilting, but arthritis won’t let me do as much any more) :(
