SEATTLE -- The mother of a Ballard High School student is fuming after the health center on campus helped facilitate her daughter's abortion during school hours.
The mother, whom KOMO News has chosen to identify only as "Jill," says the clinic kept the information "confidential."

A student has to have a permission by parents/guardian to leave campus so how did this child leave school without consent?
I do not understand how preforming a surgical procedure on minor is okay without parental consent....wow
I am a school nurse and this disgusts me. This nurse should be fired and loose her license.....

Still, protecting the next child would be a good thing. I’m shocked that it’s necessary, but it’s a step in the right direction.

what will?
doing nothing?
the girl and her family will suffer depression and possibly PTSD, if now now, in years ahead. the school administrators should pay for the therapy.

I busted an arm in high school and had to wait hours prior to getting it treated...as they had to track down one of my parents and get permission (pre cell phone days). If only I had been pregnant...LOL.

This story was covered on the John Carslon radio show in Seattle today. One of his staffers spoke at length with the mother of the student. Both the student and her boyfriend have become so distraught that they had to be hospitalized. The student had repeated panic attacks. No details on the boyfriend.
The student was 15 when the abortion was performed in December. The parents didn't find out until months later. The a-holes at the clinic told the student not to tell her parents, but she eventually did.
This is what Hillary's Village looks like.

Its an outrageous perversion of values. The same school officials would be required to report to social services if your child had a “suspicious” injury and subject the parent(s)to invasive inquiry.
But secret murder at the state’s behest is somehow in society’s best interest.

Taxpayers end up paying the bill.

No, it's not everywhere! Not all schools promote sex! You can't make a blanket statement—it's simply not true.
I think it is criminal that a school would do what they did in this Ballard case. I'm not condoning their actions in any way!
I am just so tired of all the school bashing here at FR. There are plenty of great schools in this country as well as great teachers.

THey do this in every state! Don’t sign the permission slips ever.

Apparently this parent does not understand — children are property of the State. Birth policy is regulated by the State. The parental unit has only so much right to determine the activities or restriction thereon as the Federal authorities permit. Get used to it people. Obama hath spoken — much like the demagogues who preceded him.

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself) The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.

I hope she sues the district and owns them.
Yeah, I know, the public school defenders will try to discourage it claiming it’s taxpayer money.
They shouldn’t have used taxpayer money to provide an abortion, a serious medical procedure, to her daughter in the first place.

I wonder what "provisions" under the new Hellth Care laws there are for school children getting abortions. I'm sure it's addressed in there somewhere.
