This is an open letter to those who refused to go out and vote for a RINO on Election Day 2008. You have just given us ObamaCare, which (if it is not stopped) will bankrupt America.
The final House vote tally was 219-211. All of the Republicans in the House of Representatives ― all of them, every last one of them, including all of the RINOs ― voted against this bill. In the Senate, John McCain (another RINO you refused to support in droves) is one of ObamaCare's most vigorous opponents. And all of the Republicans in the Senate ― all of them, every last one of them, including all of the RINOs ― voted against this bill. This confirms what I've been saying all along: that ANY Republican is better than ANY Democrat.
If we had won just four more House races in 2008, the final vote would have been 215-215 and the bill would have failed, despite the last-minute stab in the back by Bart Stupak and eight other Blue Dog Democrats.
In 2008, the ten closest House races were decided by an average margin of only 680 votes. For example, in VA-5 Democrat Tom Perriello defeated Republican Rep. Virgil H. Goode Jr. by only 745 votes. This means that if 2,730 more Republican votes had been tallied in four of these districts in 2008, ObamaCare would have failed in 2010.
And if he had been elected president, John McCain never would have signed this bill.
I'm not saying that we should support RINOs in the primaries. Every effort should be made in the primaries to nominate genuine conservative candidates, with true conservative positions on the issues. But once the die is cast in the primaries, and we're stuck with a RINO nominee, we need to go out and get that RINO elected. We need to donate to his campaign, man phone banks for him, hand out yard signs and bumper stickers for him, and walk the precincts for him.
Because as we have just been reminded, in a way that's too loud and too painful to ignore, ANY Republican is better than ANY Democrat.
I will be supporting Mark Kirk for United States Senate here in Illinois for this reason.
What conceit! I don't need to live next to a crack den to "understand how they think."
Face it...living in an enclave only means you are unsuccessful at persuading your neighbors.
Bullcrap. Go after the idiots who jumped on the “hate George Bush” bandwagon first, or you’re one of the enemy.
RE: “Thanks for the charter of the useful idiot brigade.”
LOL...so true.
Interesting take. But you do know this is a conservative website, don’t you?
It is more complicated than you think.
I saw reported Michael Goodwin admit he is a democrat and voted for Obama and now he is alarmed at what he sees, thought he would be centrist.
I don’t think it’s constructive for conservatives to fight with each other. The enemy is the Democrats, and they’re formidable enough.
Rino’s are betrayers and fiends. One of their greatest acts of perversion is to appear after a battle is lost and shower accusations on people who supposedly didn’t support their putrid candidates hard enough.
Most of us have held our noses and voted for the Doles and McCains, people who wouldn’t even put up half a fight and kissed the back ends of Democrats throughout their campaigns. Yet according to idiot scumbags like this author, it is our fault those Rino jokers didn’t win.
Bush and the Republican Congress lost in 2006 and 2008. We didn’t do it. Not only are Rino’s betrayers and scoundrels, they are sore losers too.
If it weren’t for the tea parties, no R would be against this and especially not McCain. Do you think McCain would be against this if he had won? Well, you’re wrong. He’s against it now because he and Palin are running against a conservative.
The people were given a choice between crap & poop, but let's get mad at those who picked toilet paper??
What kind of shape would the Conservatives be in; if McLame had won??
The RINOS would still control the GOP, not be on the way out.
I voted for Sarah and the old wrinkly dude; but I can understand those that didn't.
Blaming these people for today's mess is counter productive. Obama and the Democrat's own this mess lock, stock, and barrel; and they're not done(amnesty, crap & tax). We need every Conservative we can get to win this fight in November. I understand the anger at where we are today; but let's focus that anger on our enemies that have no conscience, not the people that voted theirs.
You are exactly right. The time to fight for conservativism is in the primaries. Choose the best from among the available candidates then fire both barrels in the general elections. I think far too many of those commentors who wouldn’t “hold their noses” and vote for a moderate “R” over any “D” are really nothing more than trolls. To the remainder, those who trully believe they’re standing up for something when they stay home and give the other side an unchallenged win, I would ask “Why do you even bother to register to vote?” They make a mockery of the entire process, like the little boy who owns the only ball on the playground. When he gets mad he just takes his ball and goes home, and doesn’t care that he ends the game for everyone.
Remember, even a congress full of the most liberal Repubs you could find would have prevented the likes of Harry and Nancy wrecking everything in honor of their hero Barack. You can’t always choose your battles, you have to be willing to fight which ever one you are facing, where and when it comes up.
“IF YOU DIDN’T VOTE, DON’T SAY A WORD.”
I hit a nerve with you two nitwits. There are plenty more around here like you two. Yea, I know, McCain was the worst candidate, but he’s better than Barry.
One thing is for sure, conservatives are always right. They are standing alone because they can’t agree to a like cause. That’s why we get beat every time by libs.
You’re right, the guy who posted this, and all the people who agree, are shallow thinkers.
This is counter productive.
Our problems will not be solved at the ballot box.
It will be solved on the street first, with ALL of us.
BULL! McCain is campaigning for a primary against a conservative.
So you’re alright with Arlen Spectre, Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins.
Pelosi probably had a few cowards in reserve who would have voted yes if she had needed them!!
I disagree on Kirk. He would not have won that primary if it hadn’t been held so early and he behaved dishonorably by refusing to participate in debates. I supported McCain wholeheartey in 2008 and I still don’t support replacing him. He is going to retire eventually. What led to this whole mess was the softening of the GOP and that was caused by Republicans like Kirk and big spending conservatives who supported tax cuts but never a seldom spending cuts. Also alot of what we see with Obama is a cultral phenomenon and part of that is not articulating to minorities and young people the value of conservatism but instead offerring soft compassionate pseudo conservatism in it’s place. There is a reason why Ron Paul appeals to the young and it isn’t just drug and war policy. I’m glad you brought up the Illinois race because their is a conservative prolife libertarian running Mike Labno who would be a perfect candidate for Tea Party types. This election isn’t about electing any Republican. We need libertarians, we need conservatives who we can count on across the board to support limited giverment and reintorce the sovereignity of the citizen. In 2008 we had many conservative candidates running but in the end even here it was impossible to get people to wake up and support a candidate unless they were some flaming bomb thrower or all ready well ahead. That is a problem but the last thing we need is to elect liberal Republicans like Kirk which gives more power to the left which is our real enemy.
Biggest mistake:
Letting the MEDIA tell the the GOP who should be candidate in 2008 and letting ACORN vote in mass during the primaries giving McCain the nomination.
2012 conservatives must launch a blitzkrieg on day 1 of the primaries to get Sarah Palin or another conservative in the drivers seat.
Don’t let the media or their lackeys ram Mitt Romney down our throat.!!!!
Isn’t this obvious, how could these RINO enablers be so blind?
