After the U.S. House's historic vote Sunday night passing the health care reform bill, South Carolina Attorney General Henry McMaster issued the following statement:
"The health care legislation Congress passed tonight is an assault against the Constitution of the United States. It contains various provisions and federal mandates that are clearly unconstitutional and must not be allowed to stand.
A legal challenge by the States appears to be the only hope of protecting the American people from this unprecedented attack on our system of government. The key question involved is whether personal freedom, state sovereignty and constitutional law will survive in America for future generations.
As attorney general for the State of South Carolina, I have sworn an oath to uphold and defend both our state and federal constitutions. I therefore intend to join with Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum in challenging the constitutionality of this profoundly unwise legislation. We will take our case to the United States Supreme Court if necessary.
After an extensive conference call tonight, I am optimistic that the attorneys general of Texas, Nebraska, Utah, North Dakota, South Dakota, Washington, Pennsylvania, Oklahoma and Alabama will be joining this effort as well."
The “baby boomers” are growing in numbers. That will go heavily against the DemocRats in the 2010 midterms.
Baby Boomers need to wake up because we have very very little time to turn this around (USA). If not they are so screwed. Forget about any retirement for baby boomers if Hussein is not stopped.
We have to see if we can get this 38 state Constitutional challenge going.
Benishek is up to almost 14,000 people on FaceBook.
He has a pay pal set up. Sound slike a good guy.
We can stop Hussein!
To have the bill ruled unconstitutional, it only takes one strong State (we have many more than that).
Agreed! As I mentioned, I believe we have 40 States to amend Hussein’s bill.
Thanks Civ. Busy day! Doing my best to ping unique articles and big developments on the socialized medicine blowback and making sure the others are tagged. Many States appear to be getting the message and are making the right noises. God only knows we need their help.
