Brady Quinn will get a chance to start over in Denver. Whether hell get to start is up in the air.
The Broncos acquired the former first-round draft pick from the Cleveland Browns for fullback Peyton Hillis, a 2011 sixth-round draft pick and a conditional pick in 2012.
The teams announced the trade Sunday and said the deal is pending physicals.
Ostensibly, Quinn will compete with Kyle Orton(notes) for the Broncos starting job, although coach Josh McDaniels was unavailable Sunday to comment on the trade, according to a team spokesman.
Quinns departure comes one day after the Browns agreed to terms with free agent Jake Delhomme(notes) on a two-year contract. Quinn went 3-9 in 12 starts for Cleveland, which drafted him with the 22nd pick in the first round in 2007 out of Notre Dame.
From Dublin, Ohio, he was embraced by Browns fans as the quarterback of the future. But it never panned out for the Browns or Quinn.
I appreciate everything Brady did for us last year and in his three seasons with the Cleveland Browns, coach Eric Mangini said in a statement. He is professional in the way he goes about doing his job and worked extremely hard at every aspect of his game. I wish him the best of success in Denver.

Saw it coming!
Lifelong Browns fan here. Good luck down the road to BQ. With mediocre coaching (at best), a poor supporting cast, and bad-luck injuries, I never thought Brady got a real shot here in Cleveland. I will be rooting for him to get back on track.
wtf?
Nothing can explain paying Delhomme $7 million.
With the $12 mill the Panthers still have to pay him, that has to make Delhomme one of highest paid players in the NFL.
Yes. In total that is about $1,000,000 per interception.

LoL. Cold gots to be. I do hope Jake does well in Cleveland though. He’s a good guy.
Despite my comments I was a Jake supporter too. I think his Tommy John surgery was not the success they claimed it was, but he made a believer out of me with that run to the Super Bowl.
Well!! Son of my gun! So much for Brady staying as backup in Cleveland to try and learn something about Pro football...
A sixth round pick and a conditional pick in 2012 is what they took?? That’s almost as bad as trading him for a few sets of used shoulderpads...
Brady Quinn has a bad dose of Bernie Kozar Syndrome...an official condition that has afflicted many Cleveland Quarterbacks over the last 50 years or so. The symptoms are that the poor bastard hears feet coming and the noise triggers a primal panic reflex that causes an instantaneous muscle spasm in the throwing arm. It is reflexive and not under the control of the victim.
The primary cause of this condition is poor offensive linemanship and $hitty coaching on all levels. The cure is underway right now though, and is being administered under the direction of Doctor Mike Holmgren.
The patient has an excellent prognosis as this decision proves...
Well, Kosar’s “spasms” were actually his normal throwing motion.
Great trade for both teams. Quinn had worn out his welcome in Cleveland and needed a new start...he may be a bust or a star but it needs to happen in a new city. Cleveland gets a bruising RB with huge upside potential to be the thunder to their current lightening at RB. If Peyton Hillis is used correctly in Cleveland next year the Browns fans are gonna love this trade.
True, but Mrs. Kozar’s favorite son heard feet coming after getting his bell rung one time too many at the hands of his own Offense...
He thinks McCain never quit and makes a good role model? Maybe that's why he sucked so bad whenever they let him play.
Don't let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya!
