LOS ANGELES (KNX 1070 NEWSRADIO) -- The Los Angeles County Office of Emergency Management has put out a new guide on how to prepare for a major disaster. The 100-page guide includes recommendations on how to survive and recover from a major event, like earthquakes, floods, fires, and civil unrest.
The guide says that in the event of a major disaster, people should be prepared to be on their own for several days before professional emergency responders are available to help them.

2. Buy a gun and a lot of ammo.
“people should be prepared to be on their own for several days before professional emergency responders are available to help them.”

In Florida it’s State policy that to survive disaster you need to have 3 days of supplies. Doesn’t say how much ammo that consists of.
Guns are good, but you cannot eat them or drink them. And if you depend upon medicine to survive, the guns won't help either unless you plan to identify unarmed others who are talking something equivalent and plan to hold them up.

You’re not supposed to eat the gun. You shoot your dinner with it.
2) Guns and Ammo
3) Food and Water (Water's more important)
4) Everything else (Shelter, clothes, tools, fuel, etc.)
For long term food storage, I recommend www.thereadystore.com
Freeze dried foods can be stored for up 20-30 years
IS CA gettin’ a little nervous about all the shakin’ going on around the globe these days?

Touche’! Bada Bing!
That was just a great response, to the supposed adult above.
Too funny.
That'll work great in LA, unless you become someone else's dinner.

See #13 Sherlock.
Probably help prevent you and yours from being on the end of a fork and knife if you are armed to the teeth and Andy Griffith says you can load your gun.

I have read it and love advice by Rawles. I now see your perspective but I think the first comment was meant as a joke mostly, from the other poster.
you can NOT always turn money/medicine/etc into guns and ammo.
.
Thx!
