I have always thought this was a great site to get great political info. I come here for political/journalistic references. If you are going to make your queries 'Religious,' why not go to the religious talking board. I have been slammed here on what people believe is my perceived religion. These were for comments which didnt mention religion, and didnt have religious overtones. I
i’ll ask the same thing if you don’t like it because of his sign up!
I’ve been here since 4/4/98
Inciting religious bickering in conservative political discussions is an easy way to inject disunity, especially when the commie opposition otherwise stands to lose by unprecedented margins.
Those who are arguing arcane religious points at a time such as this, when freedom is in such peril, are working for the enemy.
“When I look in the upper right corner (blue box), right there, no bigger, no smaller than “News/Activism” is “Religion”.”
You don’t know it until you click on it!
I agree with you about the direction FR has taken ovverthe years. Not only are the endless religious threads posted, but people ask for advice on gun purchases, computer repair, child rearing and lately somebody has started posting recipes, for Gods sake.
Even I have fallen for some of them, subscribing to certain ping lists that interest me quite beyond the political arena.
If there were any conservative web sites as big as FR, I would consider moving there. Meanwhile I just ignore the threads that I have no interest in or that have proven to be propaganda or spam.

I will take this as affirmation, because it closely resembles my point.
Nothing like endless bloody theological cage matches to win new souls to Christ.
Just wish more would see who their enemies and friends are.
Honest fr, as inarticulate that I might have been, that was my point.
Some folk just aint got no manners is all.
There’s always someone in any batch of humans that naturally resists following instructions or putting stuff where it belongs.
You are mis-informed about Hindu religion.
It is not agnostic. Hindu’s believe in hundred’s of Gods.
Since Buddhism started in India, I am not so sure they are agnostic either, although I confess to much ignorance about
that religion.
No matter what is written in revised history books or what the media would have you to believe, this country was founded on Christian principles and teachings.
Were our forefathers and the Founders perfect, NO. They were human, but they gave us the opportunity to live and raise our families in the greatest country in the world. A country where we have the Freedom to believe as we so desire.
So please, do not ask believers to separate themselves from what they believe. When we walk in peace, but take a stand with our Words, do not try to belittle us. If you do not like what we as Christians stand for then maybe you should take a long look within yourself. We aren't your enemy, but as true believers we will not back down.
FR is a great forum to compare & contrast our thoughts with others, thank you Jim Robinson! Knowshon, I’ve found that my further study regarding the nexus of Politics, Religion, Philosophy has helped my understanding, a couple that address some of the issues you’ve expressed:

Your comment “None but me” under the title was a bit cryptic. But in the top 50 threads currently in the Latest Articles list, 3 are from the Religion Forum, 1 is a “Prayer for America” thread, and 1 in the News/Activism forum asks about the “constant religious posts”.
Is that “constant”?
Well, when you’re seen running around the park naked with a headless chicken some people just might wonder about your religious ideas.
Its just a thought.
50 topics on my screen. Including yours, there are 3 on religion. Not so overwhelming I think. Besides does anyone make you read them? Best wishes, John
Some of the most advanced political theories on freedom, justice, liberty, and governance may be found in writings from the Puritans based upon religious doctrine prior to the Declaration of Independence.
The relationship between political study and studies in theology have historically been rigorous. Look into the history of all the Ivy League schools, original theological positions of those who settled in the Americas in the 1500-1700s, and degree of their studies. It’s an informative mix.
How long have I been posting?
You can set up your Free Republic personal preferences to ingnore the Religion forum and browse the rest, or browse only political breaking news, or pretty much whatever you want. Go to your account settings and customize it to your pleasure.
Beyond that this website, owned and run by Jim Robinson, can talk about any damn thing Jim wants to talk about. And even though my time here is much shorter than many I can pretty much assure you that nothing is on this site that Jim doesn't allow. It's his site. He sets the rules. You're in his house, sitting in his living room. Think of it that way and you may gain wisdom.
Ignore what you don't like. Or find another website. FReedom is a biggy around here.
Those skips seem to be turning into long jumps lately.
You promised you wouldn't tell.
