I was practically yelling the last couple of minutes (between goal 3 for CAN and goal 5 for USA)...
"CLEAR THE PUCK!!!"

Yes that empty net goal was one of the best I have seen, reaching around the man in front and slapping it into the net! It was anybody’s game until then.

Canada should’ve gone with Luongo.
And a lot more team prep ....

That was a very well played game. It ain’t over yet, but it is huge mental booster. The Russians are the ones that have me concerned.

WoW. That was exciting. Miller was outstanding especially in the final minutes under relentless pressure.

The say that tickets for the game were being scalped for $5,000/ea. I guess if you paid that much you got your money’s worth, sort of.

Looks like Canada is a team with a lot of egos that can’t play well with one another, they barely beat the Swiss.

Great game to watch. Frantic pace at the end but I would bet even Canadians would have to admit that USA just played a better game and they just wanted it more. I was impressed with the USA energy and battling for every loose puck. USA! USA! USA!

Oh gawd. I think I'll be south of the US-Canadian border tonight because the Canadian people had almost EVERYTHING riding on this game and this loss is going to knock them senseless for a while....

Holy crap, that was one of the best hockey games I’ve seen in a long time! It was also maybe the most physical international game I’ve ever seen.
Ryan Miller was just plain heroic out there, while Brodeur made some uncharacteristic mistakes that cost Canada some goals. What it boiled down to, though, is that the Americans wanted it more.
Now we have the bye and the #2 seed at least. If Sweden-Finland goes into overtime, we’re guaranteed the #1 seed. Otherwise, it’ll come down to the tiebreaker, which I guess is goals scored, and I think we have the lead in that.
To: dfwgator
The US has won nothing yet, other than some temporary bragging rights. I can live with that!

Man that was intense hockey ... Yeah ... this is for all the marbles type of hockey or football ... playoff stuff. You lose & you're gone. With, of course, the exception of Winter Olympic hockey ... where it's remotely possible you can reemerge and win a gold in the medal round.

Agree. Brodeur did not seem on his game from the very beginning tonight. He's lucky he only gave up 4 goals.

Maybe Canada would have done better to have a national campaign for a Rent The Podium rather than an Own the Podium.
