The news came from her blog, melaniemorgan.com, where the talk host says she abruptly resigned from the co-host chair of her Washington Times radio show to return home to California to battle thyroid cancer. Morgan writes, these past four months have been some of the most humbling, trippy, awesome and mind-blowing of my life, and adds, I am not going to die. At least, not yet. Morgan still faces surgery to remove six nodules on her neck, but doctors have told her the cancer has not spread, and the cancer is not malignant. You can read Morgans blog here.

>>I had an initial diagnosis (back in D.C.) of thyroid cancer. Some of my Doctors were afraid it was malignant. Others, not so sure.
But on Friday, I got the word that sent a wave of relief higher than the water in Half Moon Bay last week.
I am not going to die. At least, not yet.
So while I will be having some surgery for the six nodules (or tumors) on my neck in the future, I won’t be worried about spreading cancer cells throughout my body.
I don’t pretend to be a deep person with any special insight on the world around me, or even about myself. But I do know that the hand of God has caressed me and the prayers of thousands of people, my friends and family, but most of whom are strangers, assuredly had a great deal to do with my good fortune.

from Wikipedia entry of her:
>>She is the Chairman of Move America Forward, a conservative advocacy group that supports the ongoing engagement of the U.S. armed forces in the War on Terrorism and the continuing operation of the Guantanamo Bay detention camp. She is known for her defense of the Bush Administration and criticism of American liberals...Liberal talk show host Keith Olbermann twice named Morgan “Worst Radio Host in America”.
A friend of mine had thyroid cancer, she had to have it surgically removed & thus has to take meds for life, but she did recover fully.
Do a google search using the words cancer = ph.
Very informative.
"p.s. I was about to take a gratituous shot at the liberals who wrote me with colorful death wishes - but screw it. I'm in a good mood and I don't want to wreck it :-)
p.p.s.
Yippee Ki Yay! I got some livin' to do! Maybe I'll get me one of those choppers like I saw on TV."
Ping. Head’s up and prayers for Melanie Morgan.
Cancer is not malignant?(scratches head at dichotomy)
The cancer has not metastasized is probably the better term for it.
I did not have cancer, but I did become hyperthyroid and had my thyroid neutralized with radiation. I knew several people who actually had thyroid cancer. It is usually very localized and once the thyroid gland is removed, the cancer is usually gone. Certainly there can be exceptions, such as libtard movie critic Roger Ebert; but it usually is a very treatable form of cancer.
