PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. An animal rights group wants organizers of Pennsylvania's Groundhog Day festival to replace Punxsutawney Phil with a robotic stand-in.

Even a groundhog can’t keep his job!!
What if it rains? The robot will short-circuit and there’ll be environmental damage.
Of course, said robotic groundhog would be powered by solar or wind generated electricity.
I propose that we replace members of PETA with androids. Preferably without the emotion chip.
Will it also include a robotic Bill Murray?
I say we do away with all animals and replace every one of them with animabots. Pets, zoo animals, sniffer dogs, birds, forest animals, etc. Then there will be no suffering of any kind. While at it, maybe bugs can be replaced as well... hmmm.... /s
My thoughts exactly. But I fear their lifestyle has already turned them into androids.
Are these people developmentally challenged...or what?
I propose burying Al Gore and every February second we can just assume that there will be 6 more weeks of winter.
How about a robotic Ingrid Newkirk? That way, we can power her down.
CATHERINE ZETA-JONES will face the wrath of animal rights activists on Saturday (13Feb10) when they gather outside her Broadway play A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC to protest her love of fur coats.
The Welsh actress' controversial wardrobe choices and animal skin accessories have landed her atop a new Worst Dressed poll by officials for the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).
In a statement, PETA bosses say, "With her creepy cow-skin pants, ugly fox coat, and icky alligator bag, Catherine Zeta-Jones looks like she's working her way through Noah's ark with a knife. Maybe she's trying to get into character for an upcoming role as a serial killer - or a taxidermist."
And campaigners will make their opinions clear when they stage a protest outside the Walter Kerr Theatre in the heart of Manhattan, New York before Saturday's matinee performance, reports U.S. news show Access Hollywood. But Zeta-Jones isn't the only star to come under fire for her unethical fashion picks - PETA activists claim Jennifer Lopez looks like "Jenny from the butcher block in her old-school corpse coats", while Aretha Franklin, Rihanna, Jessica Simpson and mother and daughter duo, Goldie Hawn and Kate Hudson, also earn mentions on the list.
I think they are just angry that he picked six more weeks of global cooling.
For once, I agree with PETA.
I think ALL animals should be replaced with Robots.
Does that mean we can finally barbeque and eat Punxsutawney Phil?
Just when you though that PETA couldn’t get more stupid.....
LOL!
