I was having problems with Firefox (3.6 beta 5) so I thought I would fire up Google Chrome. It comes to the Google home page. When I typed www.freerepublic.com into the address bar, I was delivered to, not Free Republic, but some sort of a junky looking site Www.FreeRepublic or something like that - with capital letters.
Now when I went back to the Google home, I could search out the real FR. But their browser doesn't like us, I guess.

Chrome likes Freerepublic just fine. Maybe you have some malware on your computer....

Is firefox sucking up memory like a fiend?
One of my computers running XP has gone bonkers this week. Very reluctant to swap screens while multi-tasking.

I switched to Chrome two weeks ago. I’m not impressed with it, but it’s a wash with Firefox. It doesn’t load FR 50 percent of the time, and it also doesn’t render a lot of pages correctly without hitting the refresh button.
The silliest thing is that youtube always loads with broken links, even though google owns youtube.

Is firefox sucking up memory like a fiend? Not really - showing 15k. Strangely, tskmgr shows two Google chrome running one at 10k and one at 12 k

Is firefox sucking up memory like a fiend? Mine's running at something like 1.4Mb's. Seems fine to me.
I'll tell you what really eats up my processing power, and that's Spybot's Tea Timer. I think I'm going to turn it off.

Using Google Chrome right now!
Firefox is getting slooowwwww.
IE is the same. Not very good.

We switched to Chrome and have had absolutely no problems with it at all. Firefox became a memory hog in our case and froze our computers sometimes several times a day. I’m very glad we switched.

Both browswer are going fine now. I guess Big Brother got finished with whatever needed to be done with me.

Using Chrome on a Mac.
Faster than every other browser, and no problems.

Maybe they're not done. If there's no spyware on your computer, below you should see a test pattern. If there is, you'll see something else.

Hey, thanks. We used Firefox for years, but it seemed worse with each release. With the add-on, I might give it another shot.

My XP machine at work has just been horrible and it just started this week. I’ll have to give it a try there.
