There is one towering person- physically, intellectually, and militarily who would make the ideal and unbeatable Republican candidate for US President in 2012. His name David Petraeus. Now of course, he's said that he has ruled out such a role for him in politics. But given the mess and morass in which this nation finds itself, one man can unify the country along the simple themes of being militarily strong, winning the war on terror, putting the mullahs in their place, adherence to Judeo-Christian principles, low taxes, American exceptionalism, fighting for the right to life, conservative judges, and above all capable of rallying the nation to his cause and kick-assing the likes of Barney Frank; Barbara Boxer; Chuck Schumer; Dick Durbin; and John Kerry.
The $64k question is, what does it take to convince him to lead the nation. Any thoughts?
Where does he stand on abortion? Immigration? Taxes?
Don’t think he’d even consider it.
I would give him strong consideration.
And idea of his political leanings would be nice.
Details details
Powell/ Rice 2012 !!!! LOL
I always though a Petraeus/Palin ticket has a nice ring to it.
His military record makes me hopeful; a liberal would not have lasted this long in the military.
However, that he is currently and willingly serving an illegal commander in chief makes me a little uncomfortable. I would be happier if he were to address the issue in the way that Major Stefan Cook and Captain Connie Rhodes have; for now, these are the only two officers in our military that have my full respect for standing up to the Kenyan in Chief.
Why? What are Petraeus's positions on taxes, size of government, abortion, the judiciary, health care, foreign policy, and the economy?
He’d be nuts to do it.
No.
Of course if Petraeus is a Rhino the ring is hollow.
Generals have made great Presidents (Washington), mediocre Presidents (Eisenhower) and God-awful Presidents (Grant).
Promoting someone just because he has been a successful general is IMHO the height of folly.
Why not look into it a little bit yourself before you post a vanity with zero information or explanation.
Tell that to Wesley Clark.
However, that he is currently and willingly serving an illegal commander in chief makes me a little uncomfortable.
Oh, so now it's maybe Gen. David Petraeus Republican Nominee for US President 2012? So much for standing behind your choice.

Yeah. Here's a transcript of the hearing last September. It's hard to tell who comes across looking like the bigger idiot - the plaintiff or her attorney.
Well, shouldn't we find that out before you anoint a ticket for 2012?
I’d be firmly behind a “Draft David” effort, regardless of his political party affiliation.
Wouldn't it though? And, might we all be totally surprised?
Ever hear of Colin Powell, Wesley Clark, Joe Sestek or the current Army Chief of Staff George Casey, Jr. (diversity is our most important asset).
Have you ever been in the military? I have and a number of career officers are big-time liberals.
