Jimmy Dean’s sausage has such a little bit of grease in it and if you get a cheaper one with lots of fat to render out, its about the same, price wise.

I made sausage gravy yesterday morning, so the leftover went into a container for fridge and I heated it this morning and warmed the left over biscuits over and it was as good as new.

Thanks about the baking soda. Another question, does that good hot sausage give the beans a little kick? Sounds wonderful!

Yes we do. We have 2 horses we just had to keep & their pictures are on my page. One is a 6 yr old Palomino named Sassafrass & the other is a 15 yr old race horse. His name was Poppa's Favorites & they raced him until 2008. When he no longer made money he was taken to the kill pen where he sold for $125 dollars. His new name is Moonie & he is a doll.

Sadly too many people can't afford to feed their horses & they are ending up in the kill pens. When we can we buy them & adopt them out. However it costs so much to get a horse back in shape & time to make sure the horse is rider safe. Right now we don't have any that are adoptable but come spring IF the economy picks up we will be doing more.

I am so happy you had a great day, you deserve it! xoxo Pandy

Yeah, I know JD’s is better. :) I’ve got such a crowd to feed, and Jamestown is nearly as good, about half the price.

The hot sausage gives the beans a NICE kick. Not miserable, just really nice. :)

I have a friend who has just gotten a Bichon Frise and I’m gonna check my email to see if its been deleted as she sent me some pictures of it. I will post a picture if I can find it. If not, I will get her to send me the pictures again...LOL! I had never seen one. It was darling.

I can’t help but writing to you about this post. I am with you about losing a pet. It is sooooooo difficult, that every time it has happened, I always said I would never get another dog just because of the grief, but something would always weaken me to the point of getting another dog.
I just loved when you said “Stupid dog died in ‘95 and she still makes me cry”. I just loved the contrast of your sentence. Most dogs I have ever had were not all that smart either, but so loving with a personality of their own, which made them all special. I have a 13 yr.old yorkie.I’ve had her since she was 6 weeks old. I know that time is coming and I hate it. This will be my last dog, as I can’t, myself physically take on another dog. Sorry if I’ve been rambling, but couldn’t help it.

REST IN PEACE, FALLEN BROTHER!

Claes Joachim Olsson, Norway, KIA Afghanistan 25JAN2010

I have fought a good fight,
I have finished my course,
I have kept the faith.
2 Timothy 4:7 (KJV)

God Of Our Fathers

Rest in Peace, fallen brother, rest in peace!
We who remain hold you in high honor.
Rest, fallen brother, in this sacred precinct;
We who remain keep this place sacred.
Rest, fallen brother, among these, your comrades;
We who remain keep the watch.
Rest, fallen brother, among these who answered the Nation’s call;
We who remain press the fight forward in your name.
Rest, fallen brother, lay down thy burden;
We who remain have taken up the torch.
Rest in Peace, fallen brother, rest in eternal peace!

Indeed, Tiapam! War exacts a frighteningly heavy price from among the youth and those they leave behind. Hopefully, we will prevail in the fight against Islamic terror. I believe this is a war we must win - the alternative, IMO, is the end of Western Civilization and an era of tyranny, suffering and darkness.

LOL Most people can’t get their kids to stay/come home, I can’t get mine to leave! I enjoy cooking for a crowd, and I adore having them around. Sometimes it would be nice to have a clean house, tho! :)

Daddy’s the 7th of 10 kids and growing up, there was always a crowd of aunts and uncles and cousins and grandparents around. I’m the oldest of five, so...

I write a lot, so I spend a great deal of time in my own head. LOL

Tiapam, how well do I understand. We had a lot of dogs as we were raising our boys and seems it was sad but easier to get over back then. Maybe the kids kept us so busy, etc. But after the boys left home, hubby and I had 2 shelties (one at a time.) We grieved a lot when the first one died...it was so hard, BUT I’m telling you when that last one died, it broke us into. We cried for quite a while after that. The first day, we both cried out loud, it was such awful pain! After that, our crying was quiet and off and on for days.

Of course I’ve lost my husband since then and everyone thought I should get another sheltie. I just couldn’t. I told everyone I just couldn’t stand anymore pain of losing a pet (and especially since my hubby is gone.) I just think I’m better off at the moment without a pet. There may come a time that I will change my mind but so far I haven’t.

Gypsy, my Dalmation, was one of the smartest dogs I’ve ever had. We were so close. I got her from some friends of mine when she was 8 weeks old, drove home three hours with her in my lap the whole way. Stupid is just my way of being angry that she died, I guess. :) Stupid me for getting so attached. Had her about 10 years. She was great with the kids, just an all around good dog.

My whole crowd laughs at me—in a nice way—b/c I refuse to watch any movie in which the dog dies. That’s my main criteria for a movie—Does the dog die?

Daughter asked me one time if I wanted to watch movies with her—she was about 11 or so. I asked, “What?” She named Old Yeller, Where the Red Fern Grows, Shiloh. I replied no to each, stating my mantra—the dog dies.
She finally, hands on hips, said “How about All Dogs Go To Heaven?”

I just looked at her and rolled my eyes. “How do you think they get there?!”

Needless to say, we found something else to do!

Bichon Frise needs constant grooming. They are beautiful, when they leave the groomer, but it costs $25 or $30 every time you take them in (every two or three weeks. That kind of cost adds up.)

Knowing me - I would learn how to do it at home - put the dog in the tub, wash, rinse, rinse again, remove from tub, pat down with towel, put on towel covered table, blow dry and brush, and then start with the clipping and trimming. Musn’t forget the toe nails, or cleaning out the anal gland.

On second thought - I’m too old for that crap. I’ll get a cat!
