Could make a modest sized but decent artifical reef somewhere. They'll never run again.

I would imagine the ones that appear to be most serviceable have had thermite ignited over the engine block.

Very cool.
Afghanistan's terrain doesn't seem too inviting for heavily mechanized units.

Most of them have been shot to hell by our guys for target practice. My son has a picture of himself sitting on top of a T-72 in that field from back during his first Afghan deployment in 2002.

That proves the Afghan incursion was an economic victory for the Russians. Just think of all the jobs created to replace the lost armor.

Anyone who doubts the capability of American industry needs to hear the story of MRAPs (Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicles). Only a few years ago, a visionary Marine (who also might have been a soldier, or sailor, or airman) saw the need for ‘mine resistant ambush protected vehicles’. Less than a year later, more than a half dozen American companies were sending MRAPS to the war zones. These vehicles are not lying in a rusting heap as these Soviet tanks, they are protecting the brave men and women of the American armed services. God bless the USA.

With 0bama in charge, we need to be careful that we don’t do the same.
