Singer Joss Stone recently sat for an interview with Britain’s Star magazine and it has anti-drug campaigners freaking out. You may have guessed it…the 22-year-old admitted to smoking weed on a regular basis, calling it “fun”.
How often does Stone do drugs? Well she said it depends on the day and if the studio allows smoking or not and what song she is working on.
Joss said, “I smoke weed, but I don’t think it’s really a drug. It’s more an herb. I don’t regret saying that at all. I think everyone smokes weed and people who say they don’t are lying! Weed has been given this evil stamp, but how is it dangerous? It’s going to make you laugh your a** off? You might go to sleep? I think alcohol is much more harmful.”

She is right.
No disagreement, but it smells nasty, IMHO.

The AMA just reversed its opposition to marijuana, saying it DOES have medicinal purposes. 72 years and they changed their minds.

It seems like public opinion is moving in favor of decriminalization. Maybe it’s because so many people have actually tried it and didn’t go crazy or become heroin addicts. It’s lost a lot of the fear factor.
I guess she won't be walking around her house naked as much.
She was pretty good on The Tudors. Love that show!

You got that right. It does smell pretty bad.
There are some drawbacks to smoking pot however.
Pro’s
-It’s an escape from reality
-It helps you relax
-It can make you laugh as much as it makes you hungry
-It makes you sleepy
Con’s
-It makes you unmotivated and lazy
-It’s rumored to kill brain cells (makes you dumb)
-It can get expensive
-It could lead to smoking other things like cigarettes
No! No! Anything but that!
Those are completely fair pros and cons. Enough to keep it illegal?
Oh well.

I’m sick and tired of the Government pretending pot is illegal. Come on.
Everyone in Southern Oregon is growing industrial quantities. The only thing that making it illegal does is enrich people willing to break the law. Supply isn’t a problem.
Keeping it underground makes it highly profitable, prone to violence, coercion, etc.
I think we should turn Kansas into Pot Central, let Archer Daniels Midland grow it, and get the cost down to about $5 / pound like any other leafy green vegetable. Wring the profits out of it. Wring the law breaking out of it.
Laws that the government effectively refuses to enforce just encourage the norm of flouting the law.
Prohibition of pot has failed. Get over it.
Legalize it so I can have a normal conversation with my neighbor. His dog barks too much. I want him to shut up. But I can’t just go over there, because he’s growing a forest.
