It was interesting how the lion released and then almost just speedwalked to track the deer.
It was clearly a hunting “game” to the cat.
Too bad about the deer, but wild animals are first and foremost, animals.

Lots of small animals have been fatally injured when they enter my dog enclosure. Usually rabbits, squirrels and occasional muskrat.

It would be interesting if the Lion actually ate the doe in front of the onlookers, I wonder how many would say the Lion murdered the doe and needed to be put down like a criminal

Takeaways: (1) cats like to play with their prey and (2) cats don't like water.
A couple of years ago, a wild deer jumped into the Pittsburgh Zoo's polar bear pool:
