Thanks very much, GeeBee! Are you ready for Christmas? Those are dirty words to me at this moment. I love Christmas but not as excited as usual because of all the physical problems I have had for the past year.

Keep on keeping on is my quiet motto.

I’m sorry to hear you still are not back to yourself Jaycee. Good motto to go by. I hope you are feeling better and not in pain. It can be so frustrating not doing what you are use to doing. Careful not to over do when you have a good day. I know I tend to do this. You are in my prayers.

My son is coming home for a visit. We are looking so forward to seeing him. I miss him so much.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Thank you for your kind words, GeeBee!

I am so thrilled that your son is coming for a visit. Will he be here for Thanksgiving? Christmas? His visit will be the only gift you’ll need....yes, I know you miss him. I am so lucky to be close to my children and grandchildren, even though we go quite a while without seeing each other. Everyone leads such busy lives...even me! Life does not slow down one bit for anyone and I supposed thats good!

I had a very interesting visitor today. When my oldest son was a Junior in high school, his closest friend and buddy was killed in a car accident. It almost killed all of us, especially my son. I have pictures of all of them with their girfriends in my living room, getting ready to go to the prom. His friend, Jackie, was at our house at least every other day. He had a little sister and she used to come over and see us occasionally on a horse.

She loved horses and a family lived close to them who had 2 horses and she would love for them to let her comb and brush the horses....and they would let her take one out occasionally and clippity clop over to our house. She looked so tiny on that big horse.

To make this long story a little shorter, she found me on Facebook the other day, told me she lived in Greeneville, Tennessee and was coming up to her Mom and Dad's to help them out a bit and wanted to come by to see me. So she called when she got in and she was coming today. Called early today and decided she wanted to buy me lunch. She came over and we talked about an hour and then we went to the Mad Greek and had a wonderful lunch and so much fun visiting and talking over old times. She was the sweetest girl. We both insisted on paying and she absolutely would not let me pay. We rode around a while, she wanted to see some of her old stomping grounds, etc.

I couldn't wait to find out if she had horses and yes, she does...she has two! It had been so many years since we had seen each other and all I could think of was that little tiny girl riding that big horse so many years ago and all the happiness and sadness we all had been through when her big brother was killed. (Hope I haven't bored you all too much) but it was a very lovely day.

Thanks a lot, Johnn! It surely was a bright spot to end my week on. There is a little irony to this story...my nephew who lived 2 blocks from me was in the car that night and he and Jackie had just changed seats. Everyone wanted to ride “shotgun” as they called it, so Jackie had just taken the “shotgun” seat. The other 3 boys just had cuts and scrapes and Jackie was thrown from the car and was killed. We always wonder, don’t we?

I loved your story, jaycee. What a sweet surprise to get to catch up with someone who was a part of your lives when your kids were growing up. I’m glad she has horses of her own now. :)

This is too true to be funny.

The next time you hear a politician use the word ‘billion' in a casual manner, think about whether you want the 'politicians' spending YOUR tax money.

A billion is a difficult number to comprehend, but one advertising agency did a good job of putting that figure into some perspective in one of its releases.

A. A billion seconds ago it was 1959.

B. A billion minutes ago Jesus was alive.

C. A billion hours ago our ancestors were living in the Stone Age.

D. A billion days ago no-one walked on the earth.

E. A billion dollars ago was only 8 hours and 20 minutes, at the rate our government is spending it.

While this thought is still fresh in our brain... let's take a look at New Orleans ... It's amazing what you can learn with some simple division.

Louisiana Senator, Mary Landrieu (D) is presently asking Congress for 250 BILLION DOLLARS to rebuild New Orleans .

Interesting number... what does it mean?

A. Well... if you are one of the 484,674 residents of New Orleans (every man, woman, and child) you each get $516,528.

B. Or... if you have one of the 188,251 homes in New Orleans , your home gets $1,329,787.

C. Or... if you are a family of four... your family gets $2,066,012.

Washington , D.. C HELLO! Are all your calculators broken?

Accounts Receivable Tax
Building Permit Tax
CDL License Tax
Cigarette Tax
Corporate Income Tax
Dog License Tax
Federal Income Tax--Federal Unemployment Tax(FUTA)
Fishing License Tax
Food License Tax
Fuel Permit Tax
Gasoline Tax
Hunting License Tax
Inheritance Tax
Inventory Tax
IRS Interest Charges (tax on top of tax)
IRS Penalties (tax on top of tax)
Liquor Tax
Luxury Tax
Marriage License Tax
Medicare Tax
Property Tax
Real Estate Tax
Service charge taxes
Social Security Tax
Road Usage Tax (Truckers)
Sales Taxes
Recreational Vehicle Tax
School Tax
State Income Tax
State Unemployment Tax (SUTA)
Telephone Federal Excise Tax
Telephone Federal Universal Service Fee Tax
Telephone Federal, State and Local Surcharge Tax
Telephone Minimum Usage Surcharge Tax
Telephone Recurring and Non-recurring Charges Tax
Telephone State and Local Tax
Telephone Usage Charge Tax
Utility Tax
Vehicle License Registration Tax

Watercraft Registration Tax
Well Permit Tax
Workers Compensation Tax

STILL THINK THIS IS FUNNY?

Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago... and our nation was the most prosperous in the world.

We had absolutely no national debt.... We had the largest middle class in the world... and Mom stayed home to raise the kids.

What happened? Can you spell 'politicians!'

Thank you, jaycee. Some graphics I can’t take much credit for, except for finding them :). I don’t think I did very much of anything but add the text to that one. I fell in love with it when I first saw it. :)

Thanks Billie! Where did all those years go? I asked her would she be my daughter....LOL! Don’t get me wrong, I love my boys, but I would have loved to have had a daughter, too!
Oh well...

I was thrilled that she did have the horses as she was a true lover of them. She told me the people back then wanted to pay her for brushing the horses and she told me she would have paid them to let her be with those horses. Thats true love, isn’t it?

Hope you’re looking forward to a wonderful weekend and a very Happy Thanksgiving!
