She loved horses and a family lived close to them who had 2 horses and she would love for them to let her comb and brush the horses....and they would let her take one out occasionally and clippity clop over to our house. She looked so tiny on that big horse.
To make this long story a little shorter, she found me on Facebook the other day, told me she lived in Greeneville, Tennessee and was coming up to her Mom and Dad's to help them out a bit and wanted to come by to see me. So she called when she got in and she was coming today. Called early today and decided she wanted to buy me lunch. She came over and we talked about an hour and then we went to the Mad Greek and had a wonderful lunch and so much fun visiting and talking over old times. She was the sweetest girl. We both insisted on paying and she absolutely would not let me pay. We rode around a while, she wanted to see some of her old stomping grounds, etc.
I couldn't wait to find out if she had horses and yes, she does...she has two! It had been so many years since we had seen each other and all I could think of was that little tiny girl riding that big horse so many years ago and all the happiness and sadness we all had been through when her big brother was killed. (Hope I haven't bored you all too much) but it was a very lovely day.
Great story, full circle and touching!!!
I loved your story, jaycee. What a sweet surprise to get to catch up with someone who was a part of your lives when your kids were growing up. I’m glad she has horses of her own now. :)
What a marvelous reunion Jaycee! That was heartwarming to read.
My husband was born in Tennessee. It was actually the County seat, Etna, Tn. which is no longer! It is very close to Centerville. He has cousins and family in New Johnsonville, and White House, Tn. Wish they were in the WH on Pennsylvania Ave!!

what an uplifting thoughtful story jaycee...
I have many “young” friends.. friends of my son and granddaughter.. funny how that works. None with such a potent story.
Wonderful, touching story, Jaycee.
Thank you for sharing this with us.
Young girls seem to really relate to horses. It is heartwarming to know that she now has horses of her own.
I am puttering around the house decorating and getting ready for Thanksgiving next week. I should be outside taking care of a few eyesores in the front yard (the hedge needs trimming badly), but it feels so raw and cold. I think I will light a fire and stay inside and putter. ;-)
