I read somewheres that some of the explorers that came out west from the east died because bear tasted so nasty.
They’d kill a bear and eat the liver instead of the meat, then croak from Vit A poisoning. Guess out of all the animals there are, bear has an absolutely astronomical amount of Vit A in the liver.

People in Egypt seem to think so. Since Australia slaughters 25,000 per year, they ought to sell them to the Egyptians.Camel meat is also popular in Saudi Arabia (or was in the 1980's when I saw it for sale in Saudi supermarkets)...

Yep. Grizzlies eat a lot of carrion and thus taste like carrion. Black bear from back east eat much more vegetation.
