Veteran actor Sean Connery has refused to give up his favourite red wine even after been diagnosed with a heart condition.
The former James Bond star has been warned to stop drinking alcohol by medics but he refuses to give up, as he believes it is good for his health.
I do drink red wine because of my friend David Murray, who owns two French wine estates. He showed me the evidence that it was good for the health, the Daily Express quoted him as telling Wine Spectator magazine.
I favour Merlots from Chile for their value and I keep a good deal of California wine in my cellar. I have one that cost me USD 2,000 for two cases, which I think is rather steep, he added.

Hey Sean, maybe, just maybe your doctor has considered the risk/benefit ratio and decided you would be better off sober.
It's up to you of course; enjoy yourself.
To: Perdogg
Good for him, and he’s probably right. Half of today’s doctor’s (like mine) freak out if you tell them that you drink wine. They think everyone but them will become a drunk if they have a glass.

Veteran actor Sean Connery has refused to give up his favourite red wine even after been diagnosed with a heart condition.
Given all the recent research on resveratrol, maybe Connery is on to something.

They think everyone but them will become a drunk if they have a glass.I hear you. After my mother went through Alanon she was convinced that anyone who sniffed a cork was an alcoholic.

Most doctors these days are listening too much to Hollywood and are not taking into account each individual person. What works well for one person can end up kllling another.
Of course, that would require that a doctor spend more than two or three minutes with their patient.

He’s absolutely right, of course (as ever). A glass of wine or two every day will benefit his heart. And what is the point of living if you can’t enjoy anything anymore.

He’s what? Almost 80 if more? It’d be like the health nut dying in a hospital not knowing what he’s dying of ....I think he should drink, eat, whatever he wants!
