We have some FReepers desperate to get back into the workforce after being laid off, with families to support. Great guys and gals who believe the way you believe. If they are local to you, wouldn't you prefer to give one of them the chance over just anyone off the street?
This is such a good idea! With the job market (and everything else) the way it is, the most “secure” job situation can change overnight. How can we keep up to date on this? Maybe a permanent job board?

I’ve been an accounting clerk for about 15 years. Several of those years were in property management and manufacturing businesses.
It’s dry in the SF Bay area, even for temping.

Double lifts, Frustration Count, Elmsley Count, Diamond Monte Slides, Short Stack, Full Stack,Retention Vanish, Excellent use of T Tips, Hot Rods, Color Changing Knives, French Drop, Clipping, Sponge Ball Manipulation, Gosh Effects, pretty much the industry.
I pay little....but you get to work and present in my shop.

We call our stores shops. I am the most non union person.
I have had 3 contract jobs in 2 years, 1st one was 6 months, the next 2 were 3 months in duration...Each ended in RIF (reduction in force)...I have been unemployed now for 3 months...I’m a unix systems administrator with 10 years of experience also around 10 years experience in CAD (Microstation and AutoCAD)...Also I have taught part time at one of the local community colleges (continuing eduction)...I’m located in the DFW area of N. Texas.
I’m glad I was bold enough. I’d love to see some great FReep matchups. Here in SoCal the OFFICIAL jobless rate is about 12%, but that doesn’t take into account the underemployeds and the I-gave-ups.
Cindy’s thread about where to look for jobs is essential, but as anyone out there looking knows, you go in for those interviews, get called back to meet all the head guys at a company, and in the end, with the 200 applicants they had, they often go with SOMEONE THEY KNOW. Knowing your applicant is a conservative FReeper might be one point of interest in his favor.

Have you checked with Lockheed or the NAS in Fort Worth? Lockheed is going to be ramping up production of the F35 and will be in a hiring mood for a while.
