Fill them in, guys...
Why would NOW go after him? This woman is STILL his employee and she says it happened before he was married and a long time ago. Obviously it was consensual.
“Get away with what? Sex?
Whats his punishment supposed to be? That the conservatives wont watch his show anymore? That doesnt happen now. So what exactly is he getting away with?
Personally, its none of our business. He wasnt on the phone in the oval office taking care of international business, so it doesnt concern us.”
Agreed.
I think Letterman is waste of a human, but, focusing on this issue takes your attention from more important issues in my opinion.
I do not know the exact definition of sexual harassment, but, if the other person willingly (not coerced) had sex with him I do not see it as harassment. Until it is know if the act(s) were between consenting adults it is all speculation.
A better list would be The Top 100 things, more important than Letterman’s infidelity, that advance the conservative agenda.
On a taped clip from last nights show he said they were women. Our local radio station just played it
Because it’s Bush’s fault.
What law are you referring to? Specifically. And where is the testimony that the staffers were ‘harrassed’ and not just willing?
LOL. First time I’ve ever seen it. Where does this squirrel live? Does this have anything to do with your freeper name “dangus”?
5. It was just about sex.
4. It was only about his private life.
3. He will do a penitent, godly, allegedly-celibate, 3-week all-expenses-paid vacation like Jesse Jackson and all will be well forgiven and forgotten. See how it works?
2. He will have Jesse Jackson come and counsel with him and his reform will be attested to at a press conference.
1. He will have Bilk Linton take him golfing, smoke some cigars, hold a press conference, and the reform will be complete.
Who is the dude standing on the desk?
#5. It wasn’t on Company Time... just on their sofa.
I used to like Dave unil the last few years when he went totally liberal, his monologues were either anti-conservative crap or he spoke like a filthy dirty old man, I was not suprised to hear this news at all, too bad, once he was pretty good ...
lol.
Cuz all the quotes I saw said “staffers”
That’s his “office ride”!....
Actually, it is our business. The blackmail is a crime...but so is creating a hostile work environment for the female subordinates to Letterman.
In theory, how could an underling say ‘no’ to Letterman and still expect to have a job (or be able to get a similar job in the TV industry).
CBS is culpable and liable.
Once he was good....
Once.
LOL!! That’s good ole Courtney Love, Kurt Cobain’s widow/junkie/baby mama.
Please re-read the post. If you don't get it that's OK. Lettermans' case is yet to be determined.
Beyond that I don't care much for fighting with Fellow FReepers about these things. Think what you want. I've had my say and I stand by it as presented.
They still might get him because it was not an underaged boy
So the liberals that were with him are still with him.
Conservatives didn't like him before this "admission" because of how he treated Sarah Palin - and his overall contempt for conservatives. After this, we still won't like him. No change.
Looks to me like nothing is different - except he's saved himself 2 million dollars and "bought" insurance against anyone else trying to shake him down.
For me the only difference is a new mild respect for a man who will stand up to a blackmailer... still don't like him...
I must be off my game. I can’t make any humorous connection between a squirrel with large nuts and “dangus.”
