In theory, how could an underling say ‘no’ to Letterman and still expect to have a job (or be able to get a similar job in the TV industry).

I did not say it was not your business.I just think there are more important issues to focus on.
How do you know that these women did not come onto Letterman? Certainly you have heard of women coming onto powerful men to further their own agenda throughout history. You do not know what events let up to the adultery. How about holding everyone responsible for their own behavior? Not every subordinate is a victim. Your knee jerk reaction to limited information is exactly the behavior the left exhibits.
I think Letterman did the right thing by going to the police after doing the wrong thing. Give him credit where credit is due. I had no respect for Letterman before this incident and I have none now.
Move on to real issues.
