I don’t think she helps herself by doing what she does to her eyes.

You are so right. 25 or so years ago just looking at her portrayal as Princess Leia Organa caused this one's thoughts to drift dangerously into the dark side of the force.

The complainers in this thread - I'm thinking that most of us would have risked the ire of Lord Vader just to meet with the Princess. That is, unless you were deeply, and spiritually connected to your same sex partner...!

Nerd test. Is Princess Leia hot? Yes = Nerd; No = Normal. If you thought R2D2 was hot, then you’re a geek.

LOL - for some reason I had written Barr instead. I did that to her one time before .... not even 25 and loosing it already.

I believe that’s Rosie O’Donnell, but in reality one is just as scary as the other.

“Carrie Fisher a sex symbol as Princess Leah? I don’t see it. I can’t believe she was ever considered a sex symbol.”

Maybe she wasn’t in the original Star Wars (though she did jiggle here and there), but she certainly was in Return of the Jedi. You are free to disagree—though that would lead me to ask if you’re blind—but it’s hard to argue with the popular response. Her gold-bikini sexiness is a pop-cultural touchstone.

I never thought Leia was hot. The skimpy getup grossed me out worse than Jabba the Hut. She’s a skank.

Yeah, I was like 14 when Star Wars came out, never thought she was hot. Thought the movie sucked, too.

So either I'm the weirdo, or it's all the sci-fi comic book dorks who are the weirdos, LOL.

I only saw the original Star Wars movie. She wore that long white robe and her hair wrapped around her ears like ear muffs.

Carrie was a basket case later in life and didn't keep her looks for very long, so a lot of people diss her. At her best, though, she was quite beautiful. In this article she's dealing with the same problem that a lot of celebrities do. You just don't look the same at fifty as you did at nineteen. For most of us, it's a little bit of a problem, but we don't have to look at moving images of ourselves when we were young or deal with the expectations of people who see us and expect us to look like we did thirty years ago.

I've always thought about Sandra Dee in that regard. She was fifty years old and people were expecting to meet Gidget.

I liked Star Wars when it came out—I was 10. Now I find them all pretty much unwatchable.

"I can’t believe she was ever considered a sex symbol."

Well, I can assure you that she certainly was considered so. At least, by me anyway.

Perhaps only for 2-3 minutes at a time...

but I've always had an unusually fast metabolism.
