They say every time you flush the toilet you are blasting your toothbrush with fine droplets out of the toilet bowl .

Anyone know if vinegar will do the same thing?

Yes, it works very well. And much cheaper.

I was thinking the same thing... I bet the old shower heads didn’t let anything build up inside.

After a long Saturday of wading through cow manure to restraw a stall, then lying under a truck to replace the starter, then sweating all day from cutting grass and chopping wood, I am really concerned about taking a shower because the head might have germs.

I make “volcanoes” in all my drains once a month...a couple generous tablespoons of sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) chased by a cup of white vinegar...wait 5 minutes...follow with hot water. Simple, and works like a charm to clean and freshen all drains.

Interesting. Sounds cheaper than frequent bottles of Drano.

Probably.

Also you could fill a ziplock baggie with CLR or vinegar and tie it on the showerhead and leave it for a while.

My name should be Heloise!

“Spray the head with cleaner once a week”

I’m not gonna worry about it. If that showerhead doesn’t make me sick, then the recycled grocery bags will, or not taking the vaccine, or taking it for that matter, or not washing my hands, or eating that fried food, or drinking 3 glasses of wine a day, or... .

I do the same thing, but use Sani-Vac Bathroom Lime Remover that is made locally here in San Antonio. It is some very powerful stuff and is the only thing that worked on my toilets before I finally got my water filtration system in, CLR and Lime-Away didn’t even cut it. But then, I am on a well in the Hill Country, so hard water, lime and rust are to be expected.

Distilled white vinegar, is the best type to use for cleaning. The acetic acid in vinegar is an effective disinfectant, deodorizer, and cleaner which will cut grease and soap scum, dissolve mineral buildup, and inhibit mold and bacteria growth.

lol. I only posted that so all the germophobes would know there was a solution besides the one the media tells them, like buying a new showerhead every week (to help stimulate the economy don’t ya know)

I agree with all the things you said, except add a pack a day to the list as well.

For the record, when my kids were little,(3 boys) they all looked like pigpen every day, little dirtballs with white teeth and eyeballs. One I had to stop from eating dirt daily. They don’t even get the sniffles, much less sick, although 2 have had their appendix out (rocks in the dirt I guess LOL)

Even with a new shower head, Baghdad city water comes out of my shower.

I'm screwed.

Good suggestion with the zip lock bag. Thanks for all the other posters suggestions. I actually need to do this at home. Hints from Heloise. ;-)

germophobes, you’re right.

Life must be horrid that you have to worry about every little thing.

My good friend smokes, but chastises me for eating McDonald’s egg&cheese biscuits rather than bagels.
