STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. (AP) -- Police say a 61-year-old man annoyed with a crying 2-year-old girl at a suburban Atlanta Walmart slapped the child several times after warning the toddler's mother to keep her quiet.

Yup. And 100 years ago you saw a whole heck of a lot fewer kids being brats in stores. Gee, think it might be connected? When I was a kid I did not dream of doing something blantantly disrespectful to an adult. I thought the adult might kick my ***.
It was not until I was a lot older than I knew adults get in trouble for that sort of thing. These days kids know that and do whatever they want. There was a kid one pew back kicking my wife through the gap in the back of the pew last Sunday.
If I was in a store screaming and crying they would ask me to leave. If I did not leave they would call the cops and I would be arrested for trespass. If a kid does the same thing, even with a parent there, no one is allowed to say or do ANYTHING. Why?
I will tell you why. Lots people are horrible parents. They don’t know they are horrible parents. They will not admit they are horrible parents. They were never taught how to parent so naturally they suck at it. Since they are convinced they are just fine parents they are convinced that is just how kids are suppose to act. And if anyone tells them different they blow up. Everyone else is made up of people that are no better at parenting and therefor are sympathetic and people that don’t want to tell them how bad they are at parenting. So no one says anything except the occasional geezer with a temper.
I disagree with your I disagree with your premise that one slap from a stranger gets a pass.”
Don’t feel embarrassed.Lots of people have reading comprehension problems.
There was no “premise that one slap from a stranger gets a pass”.I said you don’t kill someone for a slap.
You are such a mature representative of the Conservative cause.
President Reagan is turning over in his grave because of nasty trolls like you.
Oh, loosen your truss, Grandpa. Sometimes only the good old-fashioned Anglo-Saxon word will do.

I thought you were leaving, tough guy.
LOL, you're kidding right?
Do you often equate your standards of behavior with that of toddlers? Are you daft?
Seriously, how old are you? You've certainly never raised any children.
But from reading your posts on this thread, I'm convinced you're just baiting the fool troll. For that, I commend you.
You win my nomination for arrogant jerk of the month.
Honestly, you sound like some juvenile Kos Kid's caraciture of a conservative.
I’m going for Arrogant Jerk of the Year. I trust I can count upon your support.
Gee, I am not surprised in the slightest to read that.
GI Joe fan said statements implying parents would kill anyone who attacked their children were playing into the hands of liberals. That is criticizing people for saying they would defend their own children.
In this day and age of child abductions, rapes and murders by psycho perverts I think any parent would have to take an adult’s physical assault on their TWO YEAR OLD by an adult stranger as something very serious. I would believe my two year old being attacked by an adult stranger certainly could result in the child’s death. Saying the attacker would die may be bravado but defending a toddler’s life instantly and forcefully is the LEAST to be expected from any parent.
I hope you were amused.
Oh yeah. I was thrown out like yesterday’s garbage. Funny story — remind me to tell that one sometime.
While I cannot say that I haven’t wanted to discipline someone stranger’s child who refused to carry out their parental duty, I would not do it.
I would not tolerate any stranger doing it to one of my children, so it is only right to follow the golden rule.
However, as someone else said, the parent should have done what was right, but what do we expect now days?
“While I cannot say that I haven?t wanted to discipline someone stranger?s child who refused to carry out their parental duty, I would not do it.”
Oops should say “some stranger’s child”
That’s what I get for replying on a blackberry.
Disagreements or not, you have no right to speak to other human beings as you do while waving the banner of the Church and Free Republic. As a senior Freeper, you should be setting the example for others. Instead, you have chosen to disgrace us.
No argument there.
It is crude jerks like you that provide people like Bill O'Reilly so much ammunition against the Conservative movement and this website in particular.
LOL! As if I care what Bill O'Reilly thinks.

Does this mean Jim Thompson's not paying me any more?
