Possibly true, but the responsibility falls to the parent, not a random person in a store. If you think the guy was in the right, you are unhinged.

I think it’s more annoying to be waiting in line behind someone who’s cradling a cell phone, yapping away and trying to write a check for their purchases at the same time. It’s just so rude.

LOL, the women in the supermarket checkout line who wait until everything's bagged up and put in their cart before they decide to dig through that black hole of a purse to find the checkbook. And then do it again when the clerk needs to see their license.

You just have to laugh.

Anyone that lays hands on my child without my permission had better have the coffin already picked out — and that’s not exaggeration, hyperbole, or big talk. That’s cold scientific fact.

Toddlers cry. It’s what they do. I’d’ve laid this old fart out on that Walmart floor like a bath mat.

Slap my kid and you’d better have the whole G.I. Joe team to back you up.

I assume you’re being sarcastic.

If you take his advice and hit some kid that isn’t yours, you’re going to find out the hard way just how wrong your hero is.

And God help you if it turns out to be my kid you slap.

My 12 year old twin daughters were embarrassed a while back from an employee at our local grocery store.

He came up to them to tell them how much they’ve grown up and how nice they were. Then he reminded them how when they were little he remembered them going in opposite directions running in the store laughing.

My girls had forgotten that they ever did that, but I remember them doing that, and I was so embarrassed by their actions.

The grocery store (manager??) was just laughing about the whole thing.

I don’t see where GI Joe Fan was criticizing people for saying they would defend their own children>
Could you please point that out for me?

This should be amusing too.

A reflex? He hit her 4x. There’s no excuse for that.

There is no excuse for hitting her once. It’s not the kid’s fault.
If the guy was activly trying to kill or maim the child and the only way you could stop him was to kill him, it would be justified, but if he slapped her and stopped, these people are talking murder.

I disagree with your premise that one slap from a stranger gets a pass. I wouldn't have let it go with an, “I beg your pardon.” I would have pressed charges and there would have been a a scene that made the “crying” seem like a walk in a cemetery. He'd have surely wished he'd decided to try out his “creative parenting skills” elsewhere. The child in question was the least deserving person of the slap. Say what you will to me, but try to take matters into your own hands with my child and my maternal instincts will kick in and make a mother bear or lion look tame.

Genius,

SHOW ME ONCE WHERE I CLAIMED THAT I WOULD SLAP SOMEBODY'S CHILD.

JUST ONCE.

I swear, your paranoid assumptions about me portray you as the psychopath's psychotic.

I took issue with the guy being arrested for slapping a whiny kid.

Granted he may have been wrong to slap the kid, it's this constant need to place everyone under arrest that is annoying.

100 years ago, I seriously doubt everyone would have called the police on this guy.

Some folks are just a little more Spartan about discipline than others.

The fact that I am indifferent to his behavior does not equate to my doing it personally, professor.

Like I said, some of you folks really need to lighten up.

The guy was arrested for being irritated and having a Patton moment, and some of you are saying that you would KILL perfect strangers over this.

The internet provides you the cover to threaten acts of murder, violence and hostility that I KNOW you would not communicate in person.

That is why I suggest many of you take a deep breath, and go get some fresh air before making yourselves look like a bunch of lunatics.

I don't give a rat's ear who you are.

You are still a deranged lunatic to threaten people with murder for slapping a whiny kid.

Two years old cry and throw fits, its part of their job description.

Raising them so they DON'T do that is in a parent's job description. If they do that you are doing it wrong. The guy should have slapped the parent around instead.

No, 100 years every other person this parent passed in the store would have offered to spank the child for her.

Exactly my point.

Today, Conservative white males have to either be arrested or be threatened with arrest over things that probably wouldn't have gotten much attention in simpler times.

"Raising them so they DON'T do that is in a parent's job description. If they do that you are doing it wrong. The guy should have slapped the parent around instead."

Exactly.

What pisses me off is the constant need to threaten arrests or legal action against Conservative white males for slapping a whiny kid in public.

Just imagine if this guy's race or gender was different.

There may have not even been an arrest.

Being a Conservative white male in modern times is excruciatingly difficult given that we are always under the microscope in every circumstance.

100 years ago, life didn't involve everyone being arrested or shot dead for doing simple things like smacking a whiny kid at the local store.
