Good post...The animal rights and enviro nuts say this is just the cost we have to pay for the reintroduction of wolves. That cost is way too much, IMO.
Shoot, shovel, scoot and forget!
JF should have said the wolves were trying to attack and just shot it/them. Was anyone else around? Here in the wilds of the PNW we just shoot, shovel and shutup ... just saying ....
Farley Mowatt would be proud ...
Thats really sad for that cow, I hope somebody put it out of its misery. Nature is cruel, isn’t it?
Having been a cattle rancher in Australia many years ago, I would have shot the cow without a second thought. I know it must have tore him up to have to leave the cow suffer.
It makes more sense to reintroduce the horny toad to the plains of Texas. At least the horny toads eat fire ants.
My my Grandma what big teeth you have!
WTF is a USDA agent doing there? This is livestock, not food! That agent should be inspecting ‘off-the-hoof’ beef, not living beef and wolves!
Anyways I would have shot, scooted, and shut-up....
This year will be the first that I’ve drawn and Elk tag in Idaho since wolves were introduced here (and don’t give me that re-introduced crap, they aren’t the same breed).
I’m not looking forward to see how the Elk population has dropped.
220 tags for wolf in Idaho, and the pros up in Alaska say there is no way we’ll even bag half of that.
thanks for an interesting article. I’d love to live in Wyoming.
