This is an old story.
Reincarnation is not Christian and isn’t possible.
There is no “reincarnation”.
It’s demonic oppression.
This man needs to call the elders of the church to pray over his son and ask Jesus for deliverance from this oppression.
Better put on your asbestos suit!!
But this story is pretty hard to easily dismiss. They eventually found the plane (Right where the kid says it was!) and the odds of him coming up with all the info (names, places, times) just out of the blue is like zero.
Something else got mentioned last night on C2C. Some fellow who investigates death and near death experiences.
It’s not unusual for people to see dead relatives and have various visions right before they die. Understandable in a way.
But this guy says there are documented cases (rare) when the dying person has a vision... and SOMEBODY ELSE WHO IS WITH HIM/HER SEES THE SAME THING!
I got some shivers over that one...
This should interest you, too (perhaps).
I am a firm believer that there are MANY things in this world that only God can explain. I have always said....when I die....and if I make it to Heaven...I’ll be asking lots and lots of questions. ;-)
Glad that's been fixed this time around.
(sticks out tongue)
I believe this story to be true. God tells us that there are Ghosts, and he tells us not to meddle with them.
That isn’t the same thing at all as saying they “don’t exist”. They do.
I feel sorry for the young man, growing up believing that he is not his own unique, divine soul created in the image of God, but a retread. You have one chance at this life, no matter what your parents tell you.
bttt
Discovery channel had a show on a few years back (a long show) called “A Haunting in Georgia”
It was about a family, but mostly a young girl who reported various phenomena and visions.
Now they had all the standard brouhaha of bringing in a Priest, bringing in a psychic, bringing in a scientist from the local college with all his meters and thingys.
During the investigation, somebody who was attached to the case found out that an elderly gentleman had died in the house. He was able to find a photo.
So he mixed the photo in with nine other pics of old guys, and showed them all to the girl.
She, of course, picked out the correct pic at first glance!
The scientist fiddled with his meters. And blathered on and on about magnetic field anomalies and other stuff.
Then, at the very end of the show, they were interviewing him. He again went on with his electric - magnetic- sunspot rubbish and finally said one of the most stunning things I’ve ever heard coming from a scientist:
“We are forced to conclude that after a person dies, SOMETHING RESIDUAL REMAINS”...
Something.
Patterns?? Impressions?? Resonances?? Something.
Who knows. I’m not sure if science could ever figure it out.
Many years ago,,on a Saturday late afternoon I was cleaning out my closet on my hands and knees...I thought I heard someone and then felt a presence so strongly that I called
out to my husband and son thinking it was them in the hallway. Again felt so strongly that I got up and went into
the hallway looking around...they were two flights down and nowhere near me. Later that night I received a phone call
that my brother had been hit by a car at around that time...
I’m a Christian and beleive that he came to say goodbye..
NDEs are a rich source for this subject.
From the parents standpoint, perhaps a preferable answer rather than the more unappealing choice of having a disturbed child.
Interesting read. Thanks for sharing.
To the Christians with profound objections to the idea of reincarnation, there may be an explanation that is compatible with Christianity, and makes considerable sense. Call it parallel or resonant lives.
That is, not the same soul, recycled, but communication between similar souls over time. An excellent example is going to church. People have been going to church for a very long time. And in the last, say 50 years, doing pretty much the same things at church all that time.
Nothing unnatural, here, or even unusual. Different people thinking the same thoughts and doing the same unchanged rituals. It is not hard at all to strongly empathize with people doing the same thing, in the same place, 50 years ago. It’s so normal that it is hardly worth mention.
Now introduce the element of terrifying trauma. Say the pilot and the little boy are very much alike as people, or as souls, but not the same one. Somehow the pilot’s last moments are picked up by the little boy like a radio receiver. It doesn’t mean they are the same person, just that they are on the same “frequency”.
In some situation, similar strong events can be tied to a place, an object, or a repetitive action. Note the picture of the little boy sitting on a toy aircraft. That may be like the antenna from those events long ago.
Of course this sort of thing is a rarity. For which we are probably fortunate, or we would get deluged by information from all sorts of people doing similar things in years past. Whenever we would pound a nail with a hammer, we would gets lots of impressions of people hitting their thumb by accident.
So in this situation, I would tell the small boy that many years ago, there was a man who was a lot like him in personality. So much so, that when something bad happened to him, he gave out a shout so loud that even now just you can hear him, because you are so much alike. It doesn’t mean that anything bad is going to happen to you, any more than if you watched it on TV.
But it would probably mean a lot to him, that somebody eventually heard him, even many years later. So let’s wish him well and hope he found peace.
When it comes to paranormal experiences and abilities, it seems there are two kinds of Christians: those who assume they’re witnessing demonic activity and want to get as far away as possible, and those believe they might be witnessing a blessing from the Holy Spirit. I guess I’m just one of the latter. Just because something seems eerie or frightening to us doesn’t mean it’s evil—as the Bible says, the shepherds’ immediate reaction to seeing the Angel of the Lord was intense fear. If we ran away from everything that seemed unnatural, we’d miss important signs and messages from God. It seems only wise to approach these things with an open mind (and with a prayer for God’s protection).
If this story is true (it has a kind of chain-letter quality to it), perhaps James had a gift of visions, or was in communion with a good spirit who had an important message for us. I don’t think it’s unlikely that God would use living people as mediums through which spiritual messengers speak to us.
bump for later.
I have another story..
My Mom was dying and only had a few more days to live..
Do you ever have that feeling in the morning, when it’s almost time to wake up and you feel that your awake but
you have not opened your eyes yet?? Well I felt that I was awake anyway I saw the Blessed Mother at the end of my bed, I’ve never seen her before or since then. But the next day my mother passed. I was outside sitting on a bench and at
the end of the grass area was a statue of blessed mother. As I am looking at statue a relative comes out and said it’s almost time, better hurry back in...
