Seems some people are actually outraged, outraged that First Lady Michelle Obama dared to bare so much leg by wearing shorts on a recent trip to the sweltering Grand Canyon.
OMG. First she wears a sleeveless dress, now this?
But think about this for a minute. What should she have worn to the Grand Canyon? A tweed pantsuit? A ballgown? What do you wear on your summer vacation?

On vacation? She is the First Lady 24/7/365 - she was in a photo op, plain and simple - showing herself to be “one of us” little guys. I object to her taking her entourage and STILL not having hair and makeup done so she even looks like she gives a shit - She is 45+ years old and supposedly a fashion icon and looks like any other classless woman in Walmart - she’s a disgrace
OK, I admit it. I’m the one who is outraged at the First Wife’s shorts. I think her choice of clothes disrespects her status as First Lady and sends that message to the world. She looks vulgar, unkempt, undignified, slovenly, and trashy. She is no longer a private citizen and she can’t just wear whatever she picks up off the floor of her closet.
Sorry but this woman looks like a slob no matter what she wears! Can you imagine Laura Bush doing something like this? The press would have been all over her. BUT Laura is classy. She would have worn DRESS shorts or something that at least needed to be ironed! GAWD...Michelle is some kind of diva, right!
I googled "Laura Bush shorts", "Laura Bush vacation", and "Laura Bush sports" and looked at the first dozen pages of each; and I didn't come up with a single picture of her in anything tasteless at all. No shorts whatsoever. The only sports clothes was one photo of her in cross-training shoes and sweats, but both the pants and sweatshirt were cut well or altered to look good on her, and they did look great. Her usual summer outfits were light linen pant suits with cropped sleeves. She was all class, all the time.
There was one picture of her on a lawn surrounded by kids in t-shirts. She had on slacks and a simple white cotton shirt with a collar and 3/4 sleeves. Just perfect. (I would post it, but just then my computer crashed from visiting so many pages in a hurry.)

And how about our soldiers in 123 degree weather with full body armor, helmets, boots and packs? She is the wife of the CIC. She should show a little less concern for her immature clothing preferences and a little more respect for her good fortune at having joined an historic line of ladies, none of whom has ever, ever, appeared in public looking like she just rolled out of bed in the dorm. Ever.
Women of a “certain age” should NEVER show that much thigh! That’s what’s so offensive about this sloppy getup!
