Seems some people are actually outraged, outraged that First Lady Michelle Obama dared to bare so much leg by wearing shorts on a recent trip to the sweltering Grand Canyon.
OMG. First she wears a sleeveless dress, now this?
But think about this for a minute. What should she have worn to the Grand Canyon? A tweed pantsuit? A ballgown? What do you wear on your summer vacation?

I see she’s been eating very well these past 7 months.
So my comment about linebackers causes you shame?
Yeah, I’ve insulted linebackers, haven’t I?
OMG!
Don’t do that! roflol!
It really has to be interpreted as distain for the country we know the Obamas hold in low esteem.
That is what is missing in this "lady". She has no respect for tradition or the position she holds.
For me, it’s the white camisole. Ugh! If she buttoned up her other shirt, it might be okay. I just don’t like seeing a camisole on her. I don’t think it’s classy for a mom.
I’m not outraged, I’m embarrassed.
What I would like to do is send my black sister to the WH to teach her how to dress.
On an overly hot day, her hair would be up, probably braids in straw curls pulled to an updo, an African print sundress and matching sandals. Class.
If she were hiking, then she may wear shorts, but light “African” colors. The yellows, the oranges, AND coordinating. However, I don’t see Michelle hiking.
Why in the world can’t this woman look African/American for a change? Michelle looks like her suitcase exploded on her.
“It is OK though cuz the posters are super-Christian and worked hard for everything they have and a just plain better than everyone else.”

An utter mischaracterization of the FR experience, which reeks of the pathology of non-judgmentalism as well.
Oh and you forgot the “super-Jews” present here as well, and probably some “super-atheists” as well.
She could have worn a nice sun dress or capri pants. As first lady, she was too dressed down.
I didn’t see your comment.
I am referring to calling her a ‘ho, trash, criticizing her clothes in a mean, catty fashion.
I don’t like Mrs. O. I can’t stand Mrs. O. I dislike her husband even more....but asserting there was NO outrage which the writer was claiming and then proceeding to demonstrate unbelievable vitriolic outrage at her dress?
The target for this article, if there was no expressed outrage by the ‘right’, should have been ONLY the reporter. Instead everyone vilified Mrs. O’s looks and wardrobe. In my book...the reporter was provided her TRUTH by the responses to this posting.
I think a pair of capris (REI style. Light weight and for hiking) and a better shirt (not a camisol) would have been more appropriate.
She’s my age, and I think about what other moms my age where when we go on vacations with our families.
I don’t mind the shoes because she’s walking a lot.
Sorry.
:)
Exactly!
It's hot here too but not even office workers dress like that! Heck, not even the tourist dress like that!
She is the freaking first lady. She should try a little harder. I think she does it on purpose to prove to everyone that she is in charge and doesn't care what anyone thinks. Plus, she has all these so-called fashion experts covering for her. They think we can't figure out that she dresses like trash. Just calling it fashion doesn't make it true.
What do you wear on your summer vacation?....
How about wearing a Bra.....
>>But anyone who would complain about what she is wearing has never had the misfortune to be in Arizona in the summer.<<
I did Vegas in August and didn’t dress this sloppy.
We went to Hoover Dam too, so we did go to Arizona.
They might water/tennis shoes that are made to be worn without socks. If they are walking to a creek, it would be the choice of shoes that I would wear. Land’s end makes several pairs of shoes like that.
Exactly!
If it weren’t for capris, I would just stay in the house all summer. They are the most comfortable and versatile pants in my closet. I like a 24- or 25-inch inseam. Arizona is BRUTAL in the summer, so I can forgive a camisol, as long as the wearer doesn’t have rubber-tire waist and bra-bulge showing.
