Prize-winning cartoonist Garry Trudeau, creator of "Doonesbury," is poking fun at the constitutional question over Barack Obama's eligibility to be president, based on questions about whether he qualifies under the Constitution's requirement that the president be only a "natural born" citizen.

He’s just a media head w/ his propaganda told in a ‘strip’ form.

Good point! Hitler- socialism; Obama- socialism!

You wrote-
“Hitler was Austrian, not German. They had to fake up his citizenship in order for him to run for chancellor.
Strange, the parallels in history, eh?”

I thought cartoons were supposed to be funny.

That's why a lot of papers moved it off the funny pages to the editorial page or somewhere in the want ads or did away with it entirely.

Does anybody still read "Doonesbury"? Trudeau had a following in the 1970s, but lately, the only time I hear about his strip is when he gets into some political controversy. Maybe that's why he does get involved in these things: nobody's reading the strip.

I'm not sure Trudeau even does Doonesbury anymore.

He took a sabbatical years ago, and IIRC, at that time he auditioned people to draw the strip, and I think he hired a writer, also. When he came back from sabbatical the drawing style was different.

He also equates Obama and Jesus twice in three strips.

Depends on your perspective whether that's a good or a bad thing. I'd be fighting mad if anybody compared me with Jesus. Don't care for christianity too much.

Yeah, LOL. I don’t anticipate too many instances where someone might be comparing me to jesus.

My local paper, The San Francisco Chronicle, for a while (still?) moved Dilbert off the comics page and into the Business section.

That’s ‘cause Dilbert isn’t a cartoon, it’s a documentary!!

Hitler was not born in Germany, so obviously he wouldn’t support a law like the one they have in the U.S.
