Is it worth watching? The storyline is one that has tremendous potential for Hollywood to muck up.

Baking cup cakes for church tomorrow. Well for a dinner after.

I did to batches of 24. It best to do these in pairs too. One for me one for the dinner, one for me one for the dinner.

"They made “No Blade of Grass” into a movie???? And I missed it???!"

I can well identify with your chagrin. I read this book, "Slippy McGee, also known as the Butterfly Man", as a teenager, oh so many decades ago.

I can't even recall how I came upon it or what happened to the book, but I remember that it was a long and detailed psychological treatise of redemption and spiritual growth.

Curiously, detailed and voluminous though it was, I found it exciting.

And it was made into a movie years ago; and I still haven't seen it!

After the funeral we went home and decided to go to the movies to escape the heat. Went and saw “9” because the youngest sionnsareen thought it would be good. I was dubious, but it turned out not bad. Not great, but entertaining.

Some movies are better not seen after one has read the book.

"They come as a pair, you fix them as a pair. Right?"

Yes. It is prudent and wise to do so.

Plus, people do not look in your direction and shake their heads sadly if you do so.

"Some movies are better not seen after one has read the book."

Generally true, but less generally true for old books and old movies.

It was a British production I believe and yes it was good.

I might have it down in the basement if the nephews didn't steal and sell it.

Ah. It has a chance if made by the British then.

I am trying to find a good copy of Jim Kjelgaard's "Fire Hunter". I had it as a kid along with just about every other book he wrote but it got left somewhere along the way.

I wish they would reprint his books.

I read that book and it was very influential to me.

Recently I came across it again in our local public library and reread it. That too was an adventure.

It may still be available.

Maybe you should check your library?

It hurts my tightwad soul to pay $20.00 (including shipping) for a book that used to cost $0.50. But I may have to breakdown and buy it anyway. It was a great book.

Morning, all! Sunny and mid-60s, supposed to approach 90 in the afternoon. DP and Bill have gone running.

Got another email from Anoreth last night or this morning. She’s having a good time in Seattle, went to a rock ‘n’ roll museum, and next weekend she’s going to a club to see a flamenco performance.

I guess she’s doing a good job painting and whatall, since she has free time!

Good morning. Since you mentioned Maureen Dowd, don’t you have to post pictures of Catherine Zeta-Jones now?
