It has worked, but not as well as they might think.
51% believe man has caused global warming
17% believe in global warming, but think natural causes are to blame
20% don’t believe in global warming
37% probably isn’t that bad a number. I’d venture they polled people in a liberal enclave to come up with these numbers too

It would be interesting to see what a Freeper poll would look like:
Global Warming is a Fiction invented by Uninformed Fearmongers.
Global Warming is Fiction supported by Scientific Whores supported by Government Grants.
Global Warming is a Theory that is supported by Bogus Science.
Not sure.

Most people in Germany in the late 1930s believed Hitler was just an alright guy too. Just goes to show, that popular opinion does not equate to fact.
In fact, in both cases, it can more easily be related to this phenomena:

This just proves that the union degradation of schools has worked. People believe what they read or hear in the MSM. We just have to remember that the MSM targets their coverage to people with the average education of a thirteen year old.

So when a majority of the people in the world believed the earth was flat, did that make it a fact?

So when a majority of the people in the world believed the earth was flat, did that make it a fact? It was believe that ulcers were caused by Type A personalities in the 1970's.
We know know that Helicobacter pylori is responsible for the majority of peptic ulcers.
But only after the #1 proponent injected himself with the bacteria and developed an ulcer.

Why is this not a push poll? Well crafted, but a push poll nonetheless.
No real opposing viewpoint has been offered except "not sure".
