Please be careful mowing that tall stuff, Kitty! But isn't it a great feeling of satisfaction once it's all cut short and you can see the results of all the hard work!

The Boxcar sounds like a lot of fun to work with! And a swing, too. Sounds peaceful and relaxing. :)

Thank you, Dear Billie! It's a Wonderful Place, and I'm So Thankful for it. Our Lord is Good!

Light As A Feather
A merry heart does good, like medicine. —Proverbs 17:22

We Christians can sometimes be a joyless lot, preoccupied with maintaining our dignity. That’s an odd attitude, though, since we’re joined to a God who has given us His wonderful gift of joy and laughter.

It’s okay to have fun! Each family expresses it in different ways, of course. I’m thankful that our house has been a house of laughter. Water fights, good-natured (albeit stiff) competition, gentle ribbing, and hilarity came easily to us. Laughter has been a gift of God’s goodness that carried us through some of life’s darkest days. The joy of the Lord has often been our refuge (Neh. 8:10).

When King David brought the ark of the covenant to Jerusalem from the house of Obed-Edom, he danced “with all his might” before the Lord (2 Sam. 6:14). The Hebrew word has the idea of joyful exuberance and is akin to our expression “kick up your heels.” In fact, in verse 16 it says that David was “leaping and whirling.” Michal, David’s wife, felt that his antics were unbecoming to the dignity of a king and reacted with stern severity. David’s response was to announce that he would become even more “undignified” (v.22). His spirit was buoyant and he felt “as light as a feather.”

Take time to laugh! (Eccl. 3:4).

A merry heart is like a medicine—
It’s soothing for your sadness, gives you joy;
So lift your voice and let your spirit soar—
True happiness is yours without alloy. —Hess

Wholesome laughter has great face value.

Good Morning Kitty Mittens! I must confess I love to read children's books from my past... and I am nudging 70! Right now I am reading , just for the fun and memory, a book I bought on ebay some years back that I had remembered as a child... dated 1941... The Trolley Car Family.
Your boxcar reminded me of the story... finding cherry tree's in their case, and redoing a old barn. Your place sounds heavenly... Polly

Yorkie,

This brought tears to my eyes!

My neighbor just went through the same thing after the loss of her husband who was a Marine. She found a ring and priceless treasures from him while cleaning out his drawer.

In fact when she went to make funeral arrangements she found a note from him that had been attached to their Trust, that he wanted to be buried in the Military Cemetary here in Riverside,Ca. She never had been told by him about that but she quickly made the adjustment.

I just LOVE your morning Pig in the Shower, jaycee. Will be thinking of you as you have your visit with the doctor about the results of the MRI.

(((((((HUGS))))))))) Polly!

That ring was the closest I could find to ‘mine’.

That is a sweet tender story about your neighbor. My husband could have had a full military burial at Arlington Cemetary, but made it clear that he did not want that.

I got the CD of the bugalist at Arlington playing TAPS, and my friend played it as I scattered his ashes on our property. The music echoed across the red rocks, and there wasn’t a dry eye among our friends attending his private, simple Memorial.

I just saw which opening Amy posted for today. I know it will probably 'get' to you - and yorkie if she listens to it. I hope with good memories.

I love today’s Opening.

We have not all lost a spouse but we have all lost someone that we loved very much.

The memories can make us smile after the grief has subsided. I love looking at old photographs and remembering the great times and the fun.

I hope everyone enjoys the memories and the music today.

Thank you, Billie, for this Wonderful Opening.

I better get busy, I don’t have any special graphics made for today. Everyone might get a simple Thursday Greeting. :)

Thank you, Amy, for the sweet words you posted. It's a powerful song - for the loss of any loved one it can bring back memories.

Please don't worry about making individual graphics for today - I honestly don't see how you do it 5 days a week! You're always such an attentive hostess - even on Tuesdays and Sundays, you are almost always here to warmly and graciously welcome everyone to your home on the net.
