Billie, this is one of your best! That sweet voice just touches me deeply with one of the prettiest songs ever. The red graphic with her friendly face and the rick-rack like frame is gorgeous. Doesn’t get any better, thank you!
By the way, did she win?
To: Kitty Mittens
Please be careful mowing that tall stuff, Kitty! But isn't it a great feeling of satisfaction once it's all cut short and you can see the results of all the hard work!
The Boxcar sounds like a lot of fun to work with! And a swing, too. Sounds peaceful and relaxing. :)

Thank you so much, Aqua. Sorry I missed you when you were here last night.
Appreciate the link and the additional information from both of you. The Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest sounds like somewhere I would love to visit as well.

Sometimes I think we need to hear these stories, even if we have heard them before. There are so many in this country who have forgotten those who are fighting and dying right now for us. I almost have to include the President, as he never mentions the military (unless its absolutely necessary). He’s too busy bankrupting this country!
When Conor posts those who have given all for this country, I look at those sweet young faces every time and my heart aches. All we can do is be thankful for them and never forget them.

I'll Never Smile Again ~ Frank Sinatra
Thank you so much, jaycee. I think that little voice is about the sweetest thing I've ever heard. I've never watched Britain's Got Talent, and really don't know if she won or not - as usual, YouTube was the source of my information about little Connie. I was searching for the song "Smile" - wanted an instrumental (have heard Al Hirt play it and it is fabulous!)- but saw several with Connie and listened to "Smile", and that was it! I can do snapshots of any of the frames in YouTube or other videos, and thought that one was so very sweet, so it was the one I used for the opening.

Smiley Faces - Gnarles Barkley

Oh what did you do? What did you say?
Oh did you walk or did you run away?
Where are you now? Where have you been?
Did you go alone or did you bring a friend?

I need to know this 'cause I notice when you're smilin'
Out in the sun havin' fun and you're feelin' free
And I can tell you know how hard this life can be
But you keep on smilin' for me
Oh what went right? What went wrong?
Was it the story or was it the song?
Was it overnight or did it take you long?
Was knowing your weakness what made you strong?
Or all the above oh how I love to see you smilin'
And oh yeah take a little pain just in case
You need something warm to embrace
To help you put on a smilin' face
Hey, put on a smilin' face
Don't you go off into the new day with any doubt
Here's a summary of somethin' that you could smile about
Say for instance, my girlfriend she bugs me all the time
But the irony of it all is that she loves me all the time
I want to be you whenever I see you smilin'
Cause it's easily one of the hardest things to do
Your worries and fears become your friends
And they end up smilin' at you
Put on a smilin' face

JC, I love that story! After my husband died, I found a small box in his closet.
In that box was his USMC ring, along with two Purple Hearts,
and the Navy Cross.
The ring has remained on my finger, since that day.

Love your opening, Billie and yesterday’s ,too..This little girl’s voice is so sweet.
I’m glad you liked my Sunday birds...all from Texas.

Never Smile at a Crocodile ~ Rolf Harris

Hey, Wolfie!
Never smile at a crocodile
No, you can't get friendly with a crocodile
Don't be taken in by his welcome grin
He's imagining how well you'd fit within his skin
Never smile at a crocodile
Never dip your hat and stop to talk awhile
Never run, walk away, say good-night, not good-day
Clear the aisle but never smile at Mister Crocodile
You may very well be well bred
Lots of etiquette in your head
But there's always some special case, time or place
To forget etiquette
Lets look up crocodile in the book...here it says .. "One positively must not wear a pleased expression on ones countenance when confronted by that large, lizard like, amphibious reptile which has long jaws, armored skin and webbed feet and which is known as ... the c r o c o d i l e. It has been discovered that one simply cannot cherish an amicable and trustworthy relationship with the aforementioned species ... ohh! this is interesting! In addition it is mandatory that one does not become irresistibly drawn into the erroneous belief that the lateral, open extension of his jaws means that you are utterly welcome. It is much more reasonable to assume that he is contemplating how you would look in a lizard suit ... hiiiis ... eh ha ha ha mmm" |

Where have I told you that before?
Never smile at a crocodile
Never tip your hat and stop to talk awhile
Dont be rude, never mock, throw a kiss, not a rock
Never run, walk away, say good-night, not good-day
But clear the aisle but never smile at Mister Crocodile
Look run a mile bet never smile at Mr. Croc-o-dile
Well what do you know here comes one now
To: Billie
Cute little ditty!
They say to “Smile” when you answer the phone as people can tell....reckon thats true? They could sure tell it if you answered in a grumpy voice...LOL!
To: yorkie
Sweet story....sweet memories. I am grateful for your husband’s service to our country.

Billie, thank you for your sweet opening, today.
Again, probably won’t believe this, but just last night, I sent the You Tube clip of Connie Talbot singing “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” to a dear friend.
