Why dilute good coffee with milk?

Because it was the only way my mother could get me to drink my milk.

Milk with a bit of coffee and then a bit more coffee and a bit less milk every year until I was taking it straight.

I like all kind of coffee - cappuccino, lattes, macchiatos, basically anything with espresso. I also love Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk and also Thai iced coffee.

I like this version:

1. deep fried group
2. beer group
3. salt group
4. jalapeno group

and the optional fifth group being cheese.

The perfect food would therefore be a tossup:

peppers beer battered and deep fried, with extra salt and tobasco sauce...and cheese sauce on the side for dipping...washed down with a cold beer.

or

beer battered cheese sticks, deep fried with extra salt...and spicy salsa on the side for dipping...washed down with a cold beer.

There used to be a little pub near me that sold something they called Beer Batter Chicken Chunks. They were as described obviously but with a curious and satisfying warmth to them. I found out after the joint closed that they would take the raw chicken and soak it overnight in some diluted Tabasco then pat it dry prior to battering and frying. Damn they were good.

I always have a few bags of Trung Nguyen coffee at home. The only coffee I’ve had that even comes close to Vietnamese coffee is 100% Kona.

I see you live in MD, therefore you have access to plenty of Pho places to get Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk, complete with the individual coffee press. :) I need to ask them where they get their coffee. There is a dumpy Pho place in Arlington called Pho 75 where I like to stop in when around the area and get their coffee on ice. I strain it and mix with the condensed milk and then pour over a glass of ice.
