Get Over it, Sarah is gone as a National Candidate
vanity | 7-5-09 | Bob J

Posted on 07/05/2009 10:24:13 AM PDT by Bob J

Sarah is now unelectable on a national stage. The “quitter” specter will hang around her neck like “swimmer” does to Ted Kennedy.

You’ll be able to spot the realistic, clear thinking conservatives because they see and admit this early so we can put it behind us get on with identifying the candidates who can win in ‘12.

BTW - This doesn’t rule out a tangential private career ala Newt or a run for a House or Senate seat (although I don’t know where at this point) but as a national candidate she is toast.

That so many conservatives can’t see this is one of the reasons we lose so often...in campaigns and ideology.

It’s quite sad but something I’ve learned to live with. At one point I thought the conservative cause in this country could be galvanized around solid principles, sober and realistic goals and turned into an effective winning strategy and movement. But I’ve come to realize too many voluntarily ignore the ugly realities of politics and put their faith in Hail Mary passes, and frankly, are just too lazy for the time and effort needed to bring this country back to where they profess they want it to be.

We’re all stupid, and you’re not. Thanks.

You’re echoing Juan Williams... Makes you real credible.

I’m as disappointed as anyone in Sarah Palin resigning. She was the one bright spot in the GOP for 2012. As much as I like Palin, I have to agree with you.

Palin has been a popular politician who struck a positive cord with many conservatives and traditionalists. Her resignation, however, ends her career in elective politics. Short term anyway. After all, Nixon came back. ;^)

I hope she does not consider getting involved with the RNC...it is powerless.

>>>> That so many don’t understand what Chappaquidic did to TK’s national political prospects <<<<<

Your analogy is ridiculous.

Kennedy is (and was) a known drunk and womanizer who drove off a bridge and killed a female campaign employee. People were sayhing this about his even back in 1969. "Those damned Kennedys."

There is zero parallel - none whatsoever or of any kind whatsoever - to Palin.

Your entire thesis is a slander.

Please, God, not Huckabee!!!

If FR is going to become a pro-Huckabee site, then I'll be leaving.

Why is anyone even talking about Huckabee? Why is he on TV? Why are people appearing on his show? Why is anyone watching him?

Really. I mean, what if 0bama had quit not long after becoming Senator, and promising he wouldn’t run for President?

He wouldn’t have had a chance, would he....

That would be 'politics as usual' and she spoke directly to that in her address to Alaska.

I'm thinking she's going to chose her own ground to mount her assault from.

Sarah is a simmer too....If you know anything about the Salmon that she fishes for you’ll understand that she understands/gets it.

Year ago we stopped for a picnic along a small shallow stream. A female salmon was working her way to a small pool so that she could lay her eggs and untimately die. We watched for several hours as she fought to make her way over rocks, through narrow shallow spaces. It was just a few feet, but what determination....

Sarah no doubt has witnessed that scene many times.... She knows!
I want a person who will fight with me! Who will lead the fight! Someone who gets it.

Therefore,
Read my tag line:

ONLY DEAD FISH GO WITH THE FLOW.......
I am swimming with Sarahcudah!

LOL, you are an imp!
(You forgot the [/tongue-in-cheek] tag and people will think you are series...)

Anyway, have you ever seen such a reaction from the Democrat newsrooms? I have never seen anybody throw them off balance the way Sarah can, and she dows it without breaking a sweat. She is the biggest political news in the nation right now, and her already monstrous crowds will only grow bigger.

FRegards,
LH

Sara palin can NEVER be elected president. That fact should preclude people from hoping for a palin presidency. It’s hopeless. Move on.

What's your plan for a winner?????????????

From the RATs' own playbook: first destroy their prospects by any 'means, fair or foul.

If Sarah Palin were interested in running she would've made the case in her departure speech but she did not.

Timing is everything. It is far too early to attack zer0's administration head on. She needs to wrap up the Governorship properly, establish herself in the lower 48 on issues for awhile and only then will she be in a position to attack The One directly. And then only if she is, in fact, running for POTUS which she so far has NOT announced.

Nothing can be known about her strategy yet because she hasn't said what her specific goals are.

Seems to me that this has gone past the point of rational discussion - there’s too much tied up emotionally for some folks to see things clearly. I figured it would take us 6 months to get our heads back on straight after the last election loss, but it looks as if I was wrong on that count.

Sure, that will be part of the Liberal spin. Too bad you had to do their job for them.

But reasonable people, if there are any of those left, will understand that Alaska is a special exception to the rule and that no sitting Alaskan Governor can run a national campaign in the lower 48 and not get labeled with the "no show" tag. Obama should have had to carry his "no show" record like Jacob Marley's chain but we didn't have a free and independent media operating for the 2008 election. Only conservatives face that level of scrutiny.

A remake of the RNC is REQUIRED. A third-party is a dead-bang loser and will take WAY too much time.

Sheesh... everybody thinks they know what's happening. People just can't stand NOT knowing. The truth is NOBODY knows WTF Sarah is doing right now. But they're all jumping to conclusions and taking their best guess. Has anybody HERE actually SPOKEN to her and gotten an answer from her or from somebody in their inner circle? I DON'T THINK SO. At this point, there's simply nothing anybody can do except wait. Perhaps some insider information will leak. But I doubt it. From what I understand those close to her are very loyal. But if she's really retreating to regroup and fight harder, we'll soon know.

I'll say this though... if she's NOT quitting, she'll issue a brief and to the point statement to that effect which the MSM will largely gloss over and make available buried in the back pages where it goes largely unnoticed. People should note this. Because Sarah knows that she doesn't want to give the perception of having quit IF she really hasn't. So watch for the tidbit I've mentioned.

Until she says that she has QUIT, nobody should make any assumptions. ...and if she has, then as the poster of this thread has well said, people just need to get over it.
