Sarah is now unelectable on a national stage. The quitter specter will hang around her neck like swimmer does to Ted Kennedy.
Youll be able to spot the realistic, clear thinking conservatives because they see and admit this early so we can put it behind us get on with identifying the candidates who can win in 12.
BTW - This doesnt rule out a tangential private career ala Newt or a run for a House or Senate seat (although I dont know where at this point) but as a national candidate she is toast.
That so many conservatives cant see this is one of the reasons we lose so often...in campaigns and ideology.
Its quite sad but something Ive learned to live with. At one point I thought the conservative cause in this country could be galvanized around solid principles, sober and realistic goals and turned into an effective winning strategy and movement. But Ive come to realize too many voluntarily ignore the ugly realities of politics and put their faith in Hail Mary passes, and frankly, are just too lazy for the time and effort needed to bring this country back to where they profess they want it to be.
Said this the other day as soon as I read the news here . Sayonara Sarah .
Said this “ Get Over it, Sarah is gone as a National Candidate “ .
I don't. This is why it's so frustrating. So long as the big three broadcast networks and virtually all the big-city papers are in the hip pocket of the DNC, it's going to be very difficult for Republicans, and especially conservative Republicans, to get their message out.
And while it's true that Reagan was able to speak over the media, that was a different time. Even then, the media was biased, but now they are unabashedly biased.
George Stephonapolous, who was the key domestic policy adviser to the last Democrat President, now has a Sunday morning, network political talk show. If that's not bizzaro-world like, I don't know what is. How ABC can pretend, even for a moment that he's impartial, tells you what kind of mountain we have to climb.
Another meaningless vanity jmo.
I mean really...if all of Palin’s supporters did this on FR, how many would there be lol.
I think shell engineer a 2010 conservative come back in the house and Senate like Newts 1994 Contract With America and then proceed to kick tail in the 2012 Presidential election.
It is not like we have an abundance of conservatives that could pull this off, but she could.
If Sarah had drowned somebody it would be a story for a year and she’d end up in prson. Bad, bad comparison.
good post!
You are the quitter.
Sarah has not killed anyone. Your post tells me you think only you know how to run a campaign. If you are so intelligent and conservative, try running for office your self.
I'm not real sure which quote you want but here is a link to the latest FR articles on Charles and Sarah:
I've now seen Sarah's four goals, just as you've said. That really is a good, general and conservative agenda. We'll see how things go once she starts making regular announcements and engaging the concubine media in earnest.
Go get 'em, Sarah! :0)
But your audience here is not democrats. Most of us are thoughtful people, intelligent and saavy. You are treating people here as if you are only conservative and you have to use dishonest methods to “convert” us.
You cheapen the discussion with theatrics.
Sarah is listening to a different drummer.....Her education is in journalism and political science...SHe UNDERSTANDS how they are working/not working and how to work them.
Thanks for the information.
Spread the word that she has articulated those conservative goals....Yes she needs to make announcemnts. (Wonder if Boone Picken will hire her to do a commercial or two on energy?....wink....She can accept money to do that as a private citizen...look what Bob Dole did...)
BTW have you seen the article about her lawyers preparing to file suit against any person or publication that makes false statement or meligns her children?....It was on FR last night....Named names and publications.
Go Sarah * go Sarah!
Yes and it was heartening to read also that in AK it is legal to sue for defamation if a news source intentionally lies. That is different from most of the rest of the states and the fed. It is great news!
Found this, but what I initially read had more points.:

Krauthammers practical advice to Sarah Palin is quite reasonable:
“study up on the issues she felt uncomfortable with last year.”
she has to stop speaking in cliches and platitudes
it wont work. ...
Author of Article: tack just a few points to the right.
(I’d agree with that.)
Here is video of Republican strategist Mary Matalin saying she believes Gov. Sarah Palin’s resignation announcement is a “brilliant” move that will rally many supporters around the nation in her defense. Matalin says she believes this assuming there is no scandal behind the decision, which she does not believe exists
I agree with a great deal of what Charles says but he is too harsh on Sarah on this one, IMO, and it's not because I'm a brain-dead sarahbot (although I may at times be a bit of the romantic and like the underdog but don't tell anybody.)
Krauthammer's advice IS good. He is just too pessimistic about her ability to accomplish the goals he's set for her. But I'm willing to bet early on that she can and will do it. That's not the least risky bet around either but ya gotta stand for something.
Great video. Thanks. It’s nice to see at least one inside-the-beltway type actually get it. More will get it soon.
More than one analysis says that Kraut is just too Beltway.
He is stern, but I’d perfer his speaking from his heart in an critical way then being gushy gushy....with no specific ideas.
Sarah doesn’t need “yes men” around her, nor does she need people who only want to “follow the rules”.
She needs her own equivilant of CLinton’s Morris and “W”’s Rove.... A Mary Madeline type of person...positive, knowledgeable, creative, connected....Liz CHaney?
Yes. Liz Cheney needs a place in this game.
Sarah will have a lot of advice from now on and my speculation is that she already knows who she trusts and who she has learned (since the campaign) not to trust. But you're absolutely right about not having yes men. I was just trying to analyze Charles' attitude.
Sarah needs an adversarial press to succeed, I believe. That is one of the pillars of her plan IMO - running against a politically corrupt concubine media.
