I’d estimate more like a few weeks. Maybe days. It’s doubtful the Argentinian hottie is stupid/deluded enough not to notice what the rest of the world has noticed over the past few days, namely that Sanford is utterly mentally unstable. She probably enjoyed telling her friends about her secret affair with a US State Governor who was being touted as serious possibility for the Presidency. Not so much fun hearing her friends asking now, “Soooooo, how’s your relationship with that pathetic lunatic American politician whose career is totally permanently over?”
One could take that two ways. Anyway, maybe we are all betraying our own jadedness. Maybe they are soul mates and we just don’t understand and have lost the faith to believe in true love.

I can't quite bring myself to snicker over that line, because it really sounds to me like a red flag that he's suicidal. Not that I or the nation would miss him, but he does have 4 young sons.

Amen and Applause! I am sick to death of this idiot and his soul mate crap. Because he didn’t have the moral fortitude to say no and stay at home with his wife and family, who is really a pretty woman, we have to listen to the media ad nauseum about his dalliances. We have major crisis going on and what do we get? Sanford, how Michael Jackson died and who will raise his children, and all the other deaths. I hate to sound crass, but even Jesus said “Let the dead bury the dead, let us go about my Father’s business.” We have become desensitized to important matters for the next sensational news, and this guy is keeping it going with his soulmate talk. UGH!
I’m so jaded, the last thing I would ever want is to find my soulmate. Plus I don’t speak spanish so I wouldn’t know if she was telling me how special I am and how I am lighting up her life, or was calling me a stupid gringo schmuck and just wait until I put her name on my checking account so she can take the money and run off with her tango instructor.

If Ms. Argentina has anything more to do with him, I will be shocked. Whatever she thought he was, it wasn't this.
He has burned all his bridges as a public figure. There is nowhere for him to go.
I think Sanford's friends should be very concerned about him.
