It seems like every time I venture into an Apple thread here on FR, it's similar to venturing over into Democratic Underground territory.
Personal attacks abound especially if you start criticizing Apple products or other Apple users for being naive into thinking Apple is everything their clever marketing department represents it to be.
It seems like the Mac ping list alerts the faithful flock to defend Apple to the death and that is when the claws come out and it starts to get ugly.
Can you point me to the thread about the iPhone overheating problem?
I’m a Romney supporter huh? Attention to detail is not your strong skill set I am guessing. Might want to read my tagline again and then do a search on my posts on the last two Romney threads I posted on sparky.
So you’re saying it IS a religion?
Church of Apple Macintosh? Hail Steve Jobs?
Hmmm, have to check when I get home, at work on a blazing OLD XP machine.
I don’t have to consider not buying a Macbook. I will state loudly I would not spend $3000 for one. If I were to get one for $50 or so or I inherited one or was gifted one then I might use it, but believe you me, even a free Macbook I’d still be complaining about it’s shortcomings. I think you are trying to label it as b*tching but I see it as cutting out the BS some of the Apple disciples spew forth. If I could only reach 1 person out there to reconsider the Mac they were considering, then my job was not in vain.
PS. ...Nice guitar.
Thanks for noticing that as well. I hate to say attacks may come your way now, and for that I am truly sorry.
I live in a mixed marriage. My wife is a Mac, and I’m PC.
Our newly-bought laptop is a MacBook Pro, but I only agreed to get it because it will run (and boot in) Windows as well as Mac OS. So you see, we are raising our little one in both traditions.
/sarc but true
Ok well I’m glad you’re not a Romney supporter. Thank God for small favors haha.
Thanks, I forgot I had a guitar posted on my profile.
>> rabid anti PC mentality they have is disturbing.
I’m not so much disturbed by it, as amused.
Then again, I cut my teeth professionally writing software for the Mac. Up until about ‘93, that was pretty much the only platform I worked on.
Don’t use Macs at all anymore though.
Sigh...if you say so.
Look, why don’t y’all just set up your own I Hate Macs And The People Who Use Them daily hate-devotional thread, and just leave us Mac users in peace?
Ed
I don't understand that. I have a MacBook Pro in my lap now, and the battery comes out if I open the bottom. Are they impossible to buy?
The true test is, can you split your day between PC, Mac and UNIX? When you’ve mastered all three, you’ve arrived....
This thread is overflowing with irony. I find it humorous that the two mac threads today started with attacks.
To Wooly’s credit, he at least posted a news article pointing out problems with an Apple made product, he of course then went rogue slandering Steve Jobs and his beliefs on how he got his liver transplant. Outside of that his post was useful and could have some decent discussion. I for one hope they correct that issue.
On the other hand, Blue Highway, your thread was nothing more than trolling. You have nothing to back up your claim that the batteries won’t be as useful as claimed other than you don’t like Apple. You were trolling plain and simple, got what you wanted and then started this thread hoping for more. You have only been successful in drawing out more people to be hateful toward Mac users. Congratulations I guess, you have been very successful today.
Out of curiosity what is it you were hoping for by starting either this thread or the previous one? That people would believe you that the batteries couldn’t last as long as advertised. That dropping a laptop off at the store while you did other shopping was a tremendous burden that far outweighs any of the benefits touted for the new batteries? Did you get mad when no one was willing to take your word about a product that has been out less than a month and start a new thread decrying that no one will believe you. I’m sorry, but your demeanor on Mac threads doesn’t inspire a lot of confidence in what you post.
Sorry I should have clarified, but I am referring to this “new” proprietary non-removable battery in an as of yet unreleased new Macbook Pro.
Yes, I am a Mac user AND a Catholic, so I have several FR tire tracks across my little back. I happen simply to like Macs and find them easier to own and operate. I am not emotionally invested in the brand of my computer.
If ever there was a bad idea....
