ALL "Leftist Damage" Can't Really be Replaced?

Cap and trade and a finite number of other big tax increases, socialized health care, amnesty for illegal immigrants, much bigger government, more "red tape" and more government regulations, more failures of businesses big and small, more "activist judges", no more capitalism,...What's the point in even seriously running conservative candidates, at each and every political level, when all "leftist damage" on all issues really can't be successfully "fixed" and replaced by conservative, free market, capitalistic solutions and for as long as forever as humanly possible?

How can the elections of '09 and beyond really matter for non-leftists, if conservatives really have no way of actually ending "everything leftist" for the future? Leftists have already put into place legislation that ruins the lives of many generations of people not even born yet, and I'm not just talking about people who are successfully aborted as babies!

That question is being seriously asked all the time. The GOP will never have the political will to repeal ANY of the bad ideas of the left because they are too afraid of offending people who are permanent Rat voters.

We have never shaken off the curse of the FDR socialization program. We had about 25 years of good times from 1982 to 2007 but the rest of the time since 1933 we've been dragging the anchor of socialism. Wait until this new layer of government crapola sets in. It is likely over in our lifetimes. The socialists have won and it is irrevocable. And... they know it.

Need a president willing to promote the absolute word of the Constitution, start knocking out everything unconstitutional, and threaten Congress with the military, patiently reminding them they are sworn to the Constitution..

There is simply no heart for the task that would be undertaken should a serious intent be offered.

Kick everything to the ground and start all over with a new country, carved out of the parts of the old one. The other parts that don’t want to revert to “USA Reset”, can just run their part of the country any accursed way they want, just don’t spoiling over onto ours.

For the rights of all the unfortunate.
Open your mouth, judge righteously,
And defend the rights of the afflicted and needy.

Since FDR, the Left has used the courts to institutionalize their agenda. Don't think transfer payments, abortion, public prayer bans, and soon to be faggot marriage etc are Constitutional? Tough. The rats removed these issues and others from the political process.

The Founders were right. Our system requires a moral people.

There was a replay on PBS (from 2007 I believe) of that historian that dresses up in charactor and gives a discussion and then answers questions.

He was playing Thomas Jefferson. He talked about how with the revolution, that he wanted to make bold changes in so many more things but met resistance (from Hamilton primarly?) Jefferson figured we had a short time to make BOLD changes. After awhile we would lose those opportunities, and whatever was in - was in for good.

He mentioned how he wanted to bring in the metric system as a Rational way of doing thing. He feared that if it didn’t happen in the beginning, it would take much longer to be implemented (snicker).

The whole time I was watching I was thinking of Obama and his drastic and heavy-handed manner in SO MUCH change going on ALL AT ONCE. His election on the premise of “Hope and Change” is being followed up rapidly. Some folks say that America needs a Revolution. We are right now in a Revolution (or perhaps Part III of the FDR Revolution) - and the other side is winning.

There's an 'elephant in the living room' here. Can anybody see it?

Bummer. But, if they were pushing something practical like the metric system, I'd be interested!

Reagan de-regulated and so can any other conservative administration with a majority.

What we need to fix is voter fraud.

Time for a revolution that RESETS the Constitution.

Our battle cry should be “Obama... NO YOU WON’T! - NO WE WON’T!

The Founders were right. Our system requires a moral people.

The Greeks were the first to understand that freedom requires all citizens to exercise conscious responsibility. (That is what the Greek plays are about incidentally). That is why they are regarded as the founders of western civilization.

Which is now collapsing in the United States. Obama is the prime front man, but there are many many operatives. The Bicameral World.

I believe the answer is civil war and it will come or this country will slowly rot away.

Another scenario would be to divide up the country. Like east and west Germany. All true Americans on one side and all leftist on the other.

This could start by one or two states succeeding from the union. Texas just might lead the way!

We can make it just fine with half the land mass. In about 15 years we will buy it all back anyway as the leftists will bankrupt their side. In fact, can we just get started on this right away!

Boy, somebody took their pessimism pill today! You’re looking at this all wrong. If BO does a good job, then he willget re-elected and conservatives can sit around and try to figure out what he knows that they don’t.

OTOH, if he screws up big, an intelligent conservative candidate can clean up in 2012. That conservative will probably have to be a Democrat, because the GOP’s plank will be lower taxes again like that solves every problem.

parsy, who notes the GOP is full of folks who ride the short yellow bus to the polls.

It’s also seriously possible that leftists will just “do away” with even having any more elections in the future.

Quite right. Human nature hasn’t changed since long before the Greeks. That is why the works of the great philosophers are as insightful now as they were when written.

Our Constitution is likewise timeless, if for no other reason than it reins in the tendency of human nature toward aggrandizement of power and tyranny.

Of course, among amoral people it only a piece of paper, which is what it is to most people, politicians and certainly to Hussein.

It isn’t going to happen. Hopefully we will have a peaceful political resurgence when the economy finishes its descent something which I do not believe is over. If Obama gets his way on CAP and Trade and Health Care the economy is going to nosedive again in a major way.

We are on a collision course in this country. It can be avoided but right now I’m not that hopeful. When we live in a world where outright lies and myths can drive politics so strongly and the citizenry can be ignored so entirely such as with the stimulus we are setting up a situation where mere living and letting live is no longer a viable option.

We need a reboot in this country. We need a clean slate and a new start because the best we can hope is to stall not stop the descent into the slow rot of history.
