Lawyer not given a Mother's Day hat sues claimed gender discrimination
A lawyer has successfully sued the Oakland A's because he wasn't given a breast cancer awareness cap on Mother's Day.
The Oakland A's have reached a $510,000 settlement with a male attorney suing them because he wasn't given a commemorative cap being handed out to women at an A's game on Mother's Day 2004.
Attorney Alfred G. Rava initiated a class-action lawsuit against the A's because, as a biological male, he was not given a plaid sun hat being handed out to the first 7,500 ladies arriving at the Mother's Day game.
He sued over a commemorative Mother's Day cap? He could have at least held out for the Giambi bobblehead.
The whole context of the promotion make Mr. Rava's legal efforts even more deplorable. The Mother's Day promotion in question was the day of an A's-Twins contest that followed a 5k "Race For a Cure" event, a fundraiser for breast cancer research and support of breast cancer sufferers. The first 7,500 female fans entering McAfee Coliseum for the A's game were given the commemorative hat
Rava, who has initiated similar lawsuits against the Padres and Angels and was perhaps only attending the game in order to sue, claimed gender discrimination and filed a lawsuit. The A's decided last week to settle out of court. Since it's a class action suit, male attendees of that game may come forward and claim $100. But it's not $100 cash, it's $50 plus 2-for-1 A's tickets and a Macy's gift card
Shouldn't maybe Mr. Rava's attorney fees have been paid to him in two-for A's tickets and Macy's gift cards?

“He sued over a commemorative Mother’s Day cap? He could have at least held out for the Giambi bobblehead. “
Stupid line. Obviously they would give those to men.
Have to hand it to him, he saw his opportunity to extort money and took it.
Shakespeare was right.
Unreal.
Somebody that needs a stern talking to.
Baseball Ping
Gender discrimination? What an A-hole!
Actually men do get breast cancer, and it is particularly lethal when they do.
The suit should’ve been thrown out. Anywhere else but liberal California, it would be.
This dog is still waiting for his.
They should have awarded him a piece of wood with a screw facing upwards on it that is hot glued into place, “The Screw Up award”
I mean did he even try to dress for the part or did he just show up there looking like a unshaven ape with hair billowing out of the top of his shirt demanding his pink hat?
some people are so stupid you gotta wonder how they survived childhood.

LOL.
He wasn’t a man. He was a sleazy lawyer.
Somebody please kick that dawddamm lawyer in the crotch until he’s not considered “male” any more!
People like this are despicable beyond belief!
I don't blame the lawyer, I'm wondering about the judge. How did this not get laughed off the docket?
Indeed they are. But if I ever need a lawyer, I'm calling this guy!
Good thing we have a president who specializes in that. As long as you are a secured investor of a car company or a news channel that refuses to bow down to him. If you happen to be a murderous dictator, however, you get the "Supreme Leader" treatment.
