Good for them for helping Ford - the last vestige of the American auto industry.

McCain: It’s a nice car for the peasants, but aside of photo ops, I’ll never drive it.

“Which Pedals Are For Go”?
To: rabscuttle385
no exageration:
I bought a ‘97 FORD Contour - 5 speed.
Drove from Columbia, MO to Nashville, TN. Cruise Control set at 75.....except in IL where it was set at 70 mph.
This Contour (2.0 L) got 38+ mpg using regular gas.....on “old 1997 FORD technology”.
My wife’s KIA RIO doesn’t get this type of gas milage on longer trips - but we get the same in city and shorter trips.
Conclusion: 2.0 L engines with 5 speed trans is a good combination for power and economy.....at least it is good for me.
I also have a FORD SUV for bigger stuff driving.
(I cannot imagine myself ever buying a GM or Chrysler in the future.......) screw them.
